The first time I heard AB/AP, I couldn't hang with it. It was too weird, too out there. It took a while to warm up to it (years), but now I'm all in on it and was all in on Young and Menace when it was released
I will never understand the mindset of V&V being the best Panic album. The album finds the band playing it the safest they ever had, everything is just..... "Panic-by-the-books" there's nothing bad about it, but it feels the least inspired to me. I HATE Too Weird, but at least that album was shooting for the moon with something new. V&V just kinda just seems dull compared to everything else, it's very safe and easy
Lol my nephew is over and is playing Patrick Stump vs my guitar tuner. He is patrick in this scenario That is all
Never heard of this song before I ran across this post yesterday. This is a hidden gem (at least for me). I've had it on repeat. Thanks!
Not sure how people still haven’t realized that fully ignoring them is the only possible way to end what they do.
Not really... They go even if they are ignored. There are... other ways to end what they do permanently.
WBC do what they do for the press. That’s the entire point of why they announce what they do and try and beg for coverage. Don’t give them the oxygen. They have no platform except when the press gives them exactly what they want.
WBC do what they do so they can piss people off enough to make someone do something that the WBC can sue them over and make a truckload of money because it’s run by a bunch of lawyers. Normally ignoring problems won’t make them go away but in this case it’s the best route unless we’re changing the whole legal system which would be great but is never going to happen lol
I'm from the same area as them. They do the same thing you've seen on the news weekly on random corners with no coverage. They do it because they believe what they are saying.
Their entire belief system is based around confrontation. The more press coverage they get, the more people who come out to their picketing events solely to shout back at them, or threaten them, or do something that could wind up being a lawsuit, giving them what they want. Stopping the press coverage is not going to get rid of them completely, but it would go a long way toward doing so. They'll keep doing what they do as long as people engage with them and talk about them. Which is what we're doing right now in this thread.
They'll keep doing what they do because it's thier religion and they think this is what's right. They think this is what god wants. This is not a scheme to make money to the members of this church. The guy who has his 10 year old kid holding a "god hates ****" isn't out there because he knows the Phelps are lawyers and he can make them some money. Maybe it's scarier if they are genuine. But I'll leave it alone.
It’s a scheme. Lots of articles and pieces on this. Let’s stop talking about them. http://www.businessinsider.com/heres-how-the-reviled-westboro-baptist-church-makes-money-2015-6
I honestly have no idea how I missed that Lake Effect Kid EP coming out this year, but I just heard the title track of it and christ almighty can we please get a whole album of that. Unreal.
I loved most of MANIA, but I definitely get wanting another album that is a bit rougher, or sounds more live. Someone said here that they wish the new songs sounded on the record like they do when they played them live at Reading and I definitely understand that. More Stay Frosty, though. Mania is for sure the best thing they've released post-hiatus.
Lake Effect Kid makes me wish I was in the GA area for the concert instead of all far back on the floor because it's a v "in the crowd" anthem for me. I mean assuming they've been playing it on tour idk haven't paid attn
Apparently the claps/stomps on “Heaven’s Gate” are in part thanks to The Wonder Years guys! (Just got back from their Cinci show, and Soupy told us how they were at the studio the same day FOB needed in-time claps) I love facts.
Has anybody gone to the tour and know when they come on? I mean I guess I could call the venue but I'm clearly being lazy rn lol. I have to go after work in the evening and navigate a time difference because for some God forsaken reason they're going to Boise and not pdx so I wanna time it right!
Sorry, don't remember the exact time but it was actually pretty early for mine, I think FOB was on stage by like 8:30 and the show was over a little past 10
