shit I love this ep. City in a Garden just makes me want a 'take me home country roads' cover, never knew I needed that.
Not really into the other two songs, but at this point Fall Out Boy has already done everything for me that they can as a band. I'll still consider them a favorite band no matter what they do, and the fact that they keep trucking and pushing their sound makes me happy (regardless of if I like it or not).
"lake effect kid" is texturally different from current fob but that kind of songwriting is still going on in stuff like "wilson"
personally i'm putting "lake effect kid" in a playlist with "alpha dog" and "from now on we're enemies" and maybe "pavlove" too rn
Lake Effect Kid demo has always been one of my fav FOB songs and the new version is somehow better. Will always love this band and the care that went into improving a hardcore-fan favorite solidifies that.
Also if it’s true that there’s no pitch correction on this track, that’s utterly ridiculous and Patrick remains a beast on the vocals
I hadn't listened to the demo in a really, really long time...the melody of the "again and again and again" at the end sounds exactly like the way he sings it in "Favorite Record." Was that intentional?
Favorite Record also has lyrical similarities to Dead on Arrival so I think they were intentional nods to those songs.
I have no idea what’s going on in the world of rock radio right now but damn Lake Effect Kid is super catchy, push that shit
Oh that's funny, I didn't even hear that on my first listen. But now I definitely CANNOT un-hear that
Lake Effect Kid getting resurrected reminds me that they once pulled this medley out (and annoyingly never did it again)
