I was worried this was going to be a Pax Am Days thing but hot damn this is good A corker, if you will
I tried listening to this but I forgot I spilled a protein shake in my purse while my phone was in there and it got all over my speaker and now everything sounds v low fi
Super Fade is the one that gave me the silly grin on my face that always happens when they release something new.
I feel like you'll only "get" these songs if yoy're from Chicago. Like "Lake Effect" is an actual meteorology term for the way moisture from the great lakes affects the snowfall.
Wow. I loved every second of that. Most of their stuff since Save Rock and Roll has needed time to grow on me, this though. This is a great little EP
These songs are awesome. Super Fade is strange (strangely amazing) I mean I'm from NJ and 100% familiar with lake effect snow lol
Dang, really enjoyed these songs. I'm glad Lake Effect Kid was practically identical to the Citizens mixtape version, unlike Alpha Dog which had some changes. Super Fade is probably my favorite here. I wonder if they'll play any at the Wrigley show (which I am even more stoked for now). Gotta do this MANIA experience. Excited to see what merch will be. I regretted not getting a dope Green Day Cubs jersey when I saw them at Wrigley last year. FOB means way more to me, as does Chicago, so looking forward to picking up something cool.
They have to play these songs at Wrigley I’d think - I’d almost venture to say all of them. Maybe I’m being too hopeful since Rise Against will be there playing a probably lengthy set too, but I kind of think the Wrigley show could have a longer setlist than the rest of the tour.
Idk what lake effect means. But this is fucking solid. I dug it on the first listen, which was not the case for me on the last couple albums.
These are crazy good and I kind of enjoy how it starts with the most pop pinky, then the most “mainstream” pop rock cut, and then the most experimental and out there song. Kind of reflects the 3 phases of their career
