Official announcement of the FOB Fund. They're donating to Back to the Roots in Chicago to provide elementary school kids with food and gardening education. Every local show on the Mania tour will recognize a Champion of the community, nominated by anyone, and be introduced on stage and have a donation made by the band to the charity of the Champion's choice.
Bands of this size (or really any size, but especially bigger bands) should absolutely be using their stature for things like this. I love it.
Revisiting the first two singles before I give this a listen... Young and Menace has grown on me like crazy. I still think Champion is decent.
I didn't love their last album mainly because I felt the songs weren't strong enough overall. I just want FOB to write good tunes with whatever new sounds they want, and this song scratches that itch. It's pretty good.
From what i understand, those "grow your own food and sell it" things are really good for low income areas, and a win win all around, so I love seeing more of them.
I concede, it's a good song. Hopefully we get more songs on this level with the extra time they are taking to finish the album.
I'm posting on this thread just to say this new song is probably my favorite FOB have ever written My album ranking 1. Folie a Deux 2. Take This To Your Grave 3/4. Save Rock And Roll = From Under The Cork Tree 5. Infinity On High 6. AB/AP If M A N I A, meets my expectations, it'll be at number 3 solidly.
On first listen, I like the bridge. Not a huge fan of the production on the vocals on the verse. I think a slowed down piano version of this song would be really great.
Wow. Maybe they should rewrite Champion and Y&M. Kidding, but I am glad they are taking more time. This song is leagues above the first two.
Is it weird that it makes me really uncomfortable how open they are about their process? Idk if it's just me being a musician as well but the thought that they have yet to finish an album that's due out in january with the enormous amount of fan and lable pressure they're under...it gives me anxiety thinking about it. And they're probably not even finished writing. How will they manage to have everything done by 2018?? I can't deal
