w.a.m.s is great. All of FAD is top notch (aside from I Don't Care and America's Suitehearts, they're not bad but they're the weakest imo)
So what do we think the instagram video with Brendon Urie is? I'm hoping it's the "something special" planned for Chicago. Especially since the tour right when they came back with Panic and twenty one pilots never came to Chicago.
i think rat a tat is the best song on save rock and roll. will never understand the hate/indifference toward that song. the chorus is astounding and the verses sound like a mega man level. what's not to like
It's like The Emporer's New Clothes around here. Most people love the song and I'm feeling pressure to find reasons to not think it's a mess But my gut tells me the chorus is a clusterfuck.
Rat A Tat is a fantastic song. I thought it would be garbage based on who was featured, but damn did they make it work incredibly well.
Patrick's vocal delivery on Rat a Tat is one of my favorite parts of Save Rock and Roll. He comes in soooo strong on that track.
Unsurprisingly, the chipmunk voice sounds terrible live. Works much better on the recording. When it kind of fades out of the mix and you just hear Patrick it sounds way, way better. The instrumentation sounds incredible live, though.
Patrick looked pissed at the end of that performance. I thought they pulled that off well for the most part. The high vocal parts in the chorus threw me off though. Would like to hear the chorus without the high pitch and just Patrick singing the way he did live.
Patrick and the band sounded amazing (which isn't a surprise). He probably looked pissed because he realized that the chipmunk voice doesn't really translate well live unless they just play the recording.
I thought it sounded pretty good. I think it'll translate even better in big arenas and amphitheaters.
The mix in that performance was not very good and the chorus is just awkward. I'm sure they'll try to iron out some kinks as they've done with their other singles. I remember their first performances of My Songs and Centuries were not very good either. Patrick sounds real good in the verses, though.
The actual pitch effect sounded mostly okay, I think the problem was Patrick trying to sing the vocal chopping which just made it sound weird. But hey, I like that they're trying to make it work without using the recording.
i'm guessing the pitch effect is triggered by patrick singing. incidentally they really pulled it off considering
