hm. might hafta listen to this one a few more times before i can really formulate my thoughts on the track. can say that i'm not a huge fan of the vocal effects in the chorus tho.

also, wondering if the (intentional?) kerning of "MANIA" is bugging the hell out of @Jason Tate, hahah

 

Am I missing something or does anyone know which vinyl is the most limited? or are they infinite pressings

 

by now i think most people are just used to bands having a super short roll-out, like "hey the albums coming out in 3 weeks" kinda thing.

FOB definitely is going to take its time rolling this out and i expect at least 2 more singles and videos to go along with them.

Well yea I get that, but Fall Out Boy still operates as an old-school band (even if they've adopted a new sound). I was never expecting this album to be out any time before July at the earliest. It's definitely a long time, but it's not overly surprising.

 

Definitely going to have to do the same. Haha I think I like it though, and will likely grow on me with each listen.

 

I'm not into it on first listen but if history has taught me anything, most of new FOB songs are major growers. I hated The Phoenix and My Songs Know when they first debuted. I'm sure I'll come around on this and wildly anticipate any new album from them.

oh my god fuck this band and their not using media mail for shipping (unless there's gonna be some weird crazy secret bonus). Shipping for literally just the vinyl is 7$

 

Song is mental in a good way. I like it. I was really concerned that it was just going to sound the same as the previous two records but they've clearly ripped up the book again which is what you're wanting from FB. I love "A FALL OUT BOY LP" on the artwork too.

The chorus is just so bizzarre. It sounds like they took the originals bridge/breakdown part of a song that made may have been the original chorus sound really strange.

 

I really hope the whole album is super weird.

 

This was not nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be based on some comments I saw previous to hearing it. I actually liked it.

 

Curious to see if there's any album features and who opens the tour. They're also on the cover of this month's Alt Press

 

wow. realllllllly fortunate to be in the "like it" camp. single's great, art is cool. i've always loved how pete describes the album's theme/motif when it's announced. coooooooool

 

Up until that breakdown part was meh. And then it got shitty fast.

 

This is terrible, and I genuinely can't stand it, but I respect that they are trying something new.

 

If this song can take even the slightest bit of radio play away from half the generic pop out there then we are heading in the right direction.

 

Also, is this really THAT much of a shock after their last album?

I forgot to mention that, but yea I love the "A Fall Out Boy LP" too. A cool little touch. And I never even thought about that, but a Chance the Rapper feature would be unbelievable.

 

I like this more as a first single than Centuries or My Songs.
