Folie a Deux came out in December '08 and IOH was in February '07. It's closer to two years than one.
I listened to FAD today, and man what an album. I still can't really stand AB/AP. Three songs from it I enjoy, but other than that, I never go back to it.
I LOVE The Kids Aren't Alright but thats about the only one I come back to. And by that I mean, I heard it in my friends car recently and enjoyed it.
Irresistible is their worst opener, though that doesn't mean it's a terrible song, I loved the title track, it sounded like FOB just having a fun time. The songs are enjoyable for what they are, but I just don't find myself coming back to them that often 2 years later (can't believe it's been that long, what have I been doing with my life????)
Yeah instrumentally it's nothing groundbreaking or unique, but I love the lyrics and vocals.. it was my jam when I was 17-18
Irresistible is great, AB/AP is a good album. Fourth of July and Favorite Record are two of my favorite FOB songs. there's SO many good songs on there
Yeah, I never understood why AB/AP got such positive reactions, I liked maybe three or two songs of it, SR&R is so much better, I really like that album and holds up really well.
I agree, SRAR set the bar pretty high for what I was expecting from them post-hiatus. I hope the take a new direction with the next one because if its anything like AB/AP than I can't see myself being interested in any thing they do for a while.
Seeing the band perform the AB/AP songs live made me appreciate those songs more. They sound a lot better.
Are they working on new music? I feel like it's almost overdue. Doesn't ESPN need a new song to blast over sports highlights?
It's crazy how much better received AB/AP was received on AP.net when it first came out. Also, I remember when I first joined that website (2013) there was a lot of people that favored TTTYG so I'm glad the opinion has shifted towards FAD
I think that just more to do with the older crowd kinda fading out. FAD is my favorite, but its more of an emotional attachment even though I love everything before it.
Idk if I've said this in this thread but FAD was literally the first album my young self paid money for. Like for the CD. It was a big moment lol
