Not sure which thread to post this lol but Drumeo cameo with Andy! He's one of the best drummers ever
Saw Racetraitor open for Refused tonight in Chicago. Andy is such a fucking beast. It’s a firm reminder how under utilized he is in FOB. I’d love to hear him wild out on record.
New song by Catbite featuring Patrick. He's for once credited as him rather than FOB. Maybe because Pete was such a ska hater back in the day JK, but Patrick sounds amazing
Damn, I vividly remember downloading an mp3 of a radio rip posted on the ap.net front page when the “Sugar We’re Going Down” single dropped. I burned that to a CD-R and listened to it non-stop.
i remember seeing the original music video on tv and became obsessed. i heard the song on the radio afterwards and recorded it to a cassette and played it on repeat for hours and drove my mother insane. by far my favourite song to ever exist.
I remember seeing a poor quality live video that I *think* was an early incarnation of the song. Might have had God in the title. Probably posted on AP.net
I saw Fall Out Boy at Bamboozle 2005, which I think was 1 week before the album came out. The Starting Line were the headliners for the night, but after FOB finished that place cleared out. That was the ah ha moment for me that this record was going to be massive.
For some reason, they blew up in a delayed manner over here. Dance, Dance started getting airtime around spring 2006 and then they started popping up more and more on magazines and stuff. I'd then be surprised to find out the album had been out for a full year already. There was a similar case with Simple Plan. Had an album out in 2004 but it's only by summer 2005 I'd hear about them because Welcome To My Life was suddenly everywhere. It was like watching dubbed versions of popular US shows. We were always one season behind on TV. Looking back, pre-social media and the end of monoculture (?), I wonder about the hows and whys.
i remember hearing sugar on q101 back when it came out, didn't think it would take the band to the level it did. but man, that song is a jam
The first time I heard FOB was when I came across Yule Shoot Your Eye Out around 2003. I can't remember how I discovered the song/band, but it was definitely something I found online (maybe absolutepunk!). I just remember thinking the singer had a great voice, and I was interested in hearing more. I sampled a few tracks on Take This To Your Grave and thought the singer didn't sound as good lol. Then Sugar, We're Going Down dropped, and it was definitely what I was looking for. Of course, it didn't take long to revisit and appreciate TTTYG...
I’m younger than most of you guys so I never even really learned about the band until the day they announced their reunion
instead of saying 'how do you say you are old without saying you are old' switch old with the word young
they sold out the illinois warped tour date that year which was unheard of at that time, warped generally never sold out
