Honestly listening to SRAR right now and I like this way more than I did back then. Fun ass party jams is not what I wanted from them in 2013, but it IS pretty much all I want from music in 2023 lol.
I still can't believe SRAR is going to be 10 years old. I met my ex Like 3 weeks before it came out. How the hell has that much time gone by? I'm spiraling kids
What if I told you that it was possible for people to like different forms of entertainment and co-exist? Would you believe me? Note: this is directed at everyone, which is why I'm not quoting anyone. This is not an invitation to start a war.
I don’t think they’re “vastly” different. I think what IOH and Folie did was expand the bands sound to a place where they can explore more than simple pop-punk, and they then continued that trajectory. I don’t think anything they did post hiatus is that removed from Folie and “Alpha Dog” and has a very obvious lineage to songs on IOH as well. I’ve never said everyone has to like it, I just firmly disagree with anyone saying “no it can’t be good because it’s so different” and know the band ain’t going to release TTTyG2. And if you still want that in 2023, I’m not sure how much in common we got.
This. I also enjoy Jet Pack Blues, My Songs Know…, and Twin Skeletons too.. but that’s pretty much it.
i wish my voice were good enough to sing that or any other post-tttyg fob songs at karaoke i can kill "chicago is two years ago" tho
honestly feel like the bigger distinction in pre/post-hiatus is the drumming rather than the guitars.
This. Everybody SOUNDS better post-hiatus (especially Patrick vocally, holy shit), but the songs don't do it for me as much, with the exception of most of Save Rock and Roll for me.
