the twitter vid constantly sounds like it's underwater for me this has sounded much better for me very extremely excited
One thing too for sure is how even more prominently they’re featured at their live shows. Joe rips that shit.
Stephen Carpenter from Deftones wasn't exactly raving about Gore before its release: Deftones Guitarist Didn’t Want To Play on 'Gore' at First Edit: not defending goofy positions being thrown around in this sub, just pointing out the only time I've actually seen that happen.
in the clip, the way he sings "just about snapped, don't look back" is giving me that feeling only Patrick can. So excited for this one.
you and everyone else here knows what ppl mean when they talk about the albums not having guitars though lol they’ve basically been making electronic pop music lately, if this whole song sounds like that clip then the rock elements *being the driving force of the song* woulda stuck out like a sore thumb
This single is releasing 1 day away from being 5 years to the date of Mania’s release. 5 years is a huge break, longer (but less dramatic) than the hiatus.
I honest to god don't. I think it's one of the more ridiculous takes I've heard about this band over the last 22 years I've been listening to them. Except I think it fits right in with the pop-rock of stuff like "Last of the Real Ones," "Novocaine," "The Phoenix" and a handful of others that have a very driving pop-rock feel.
Feel like the guitars thing means power chords. They have plenty of guitar riffs post hiatus, just not driving the song. Give me a good balance if anything cause i’m 34 and don’t want TTTYG part 2.
Novocaine is easily my favorite post-hiatus track. Darker, grittier than usual and threaded with anti-racist themes. Goated.
