Well I've heard Victorious by Panic! at the Disco in several championship scenarios. I bet FOB took notice.
I hope it's awful in the way the last single was where it was an interesting mess, not an unlistenable one like abap
There's a video of the chorus on Facebook with some skateboarding monsters in it. The chorus is cool, and simple but catchy. Search "Fall Out Boy Champion" and it's the top result.
Is there a club for people who didn't like Fall Out Boy before 'Save Rock and Roll,' but have loved everything since? Because that's a club I'd like to join. I'll pay dues and everything.
That doesn't appear to be the case based on 80% of the comments on here. Which is fine. But for a guy who found FOB to be sorta just there before and now absolutely fascinating and fun, is confusing.
I would say on the basis of most other FOB threads around here that I tend to feel like the minority. But then that could be my white straight cis-gendered male persecution complex talking.
It's not that they don't like old fob, more that it gets thrown under the bus pretty quickly. Like people calling Fuct the most dated pop punk album, which is just not even somewhat true.
It's more that people here like IOH and onwards more than TTTYG and FUTCT. The popular opinion here is that Folie à Deux is their best album.
Like look, I can appreciate the some folks prefer the new music to the old, but c'mon, no. TTTYG is the definition of "Too Much Fucking Fun!" ...why do I keep coming to these threads and doing this to myself?
I saw it cited as the definitive dated pop punk album which is a radically incorrect statement lol. Correct opinion, though IOH gives it a run for its money. I looooove FUCT too, and TTTYG is a fun album that I still admire and love a few songs from.
It's an interesting Rorschach's test I suppose. Y'all are saying people crap on the old stuff; I believe that's what you're seeing. All I ever see is people pining for the past and talking about FOB has ruined their legacy and isn't the band they used to be. Literally in this thread, an announcement of a new single immediately became a place to talk about how bad the last single was - if it wasn't the first comment, it was in the first few. I guess things just stand out differently to different people. I feel like I see way more people bashing the last two records than people who like them. I could be wrong. But that's definitely how it seems.
The snippet sounds promising! I'm liking the direction they are taking. I'm just glad to see them having fun!
The quality of the first single is directly related to the second one, why would people not talk about that right away.
You're missing my point. From my perspective, every time FOB is brought up, the threads are filled with people bashing their current work and pining for their previous work. So I said something about it, and the response was a perspective that was exactly the opposite - that chorus.fm is filled with people who don't like their old work but do like their new. I don't know what the actual makeup of this site is. But clearly, both sides of the coin think that their perspective is the minority one. Which is weird, and probably says more about us than FOB. Anyway, I think the last single was great. And would enjoy another one that's that good/sounds like that.
