I remember reading somewhere that described post hiatus Fall Out Boy as ESPN sports anthem songs. This seems to fit the bill. They still are one of my favorite all time bands.
I'm not a fan of Young and Menace, but goddamn guys, people can have different opinions. I'm hoping this one is good, there are aspects to Young and Menace I actually really like but the hook ruins it for me. If they keep some of that "darker" pop aesthetic while making something more my tastes I may dig it.
Just have a weird feeling that this album won't sell as well as their last two. Literally no reason to back that up other than the Paramore album (which had a different rollout entirely).
If these guys are gonna keep branching out musically, I'd like to hear another Pax AM Days -esque EP at some point with some throwback pop punk. This post-reunion Fall Out Boy doesn't really do anything for me.
The first single has grown to be one of my favorite songs since the reunion. Experimental pop FOB >>>>> cookie cutter pop FOB. That said, this title has "ESPN basketball montage" written all over it
Last song was terrible, and I honestly expect this to be too, but at least they are trying something new I guess.
I still can't get into Young & Menace. I'll always check out what FOB releases, but I'm starting to think their direction is just about completely off the rails in terms of my tastes.
