Heaven Iowa is so cheesy on first brush but god damn Patrick sells the suicidal lines so well (IM CHECKING MYSELF OUT *pause* FOREVERRRR) it winds up hitting like a fucking semi truck

 

My only complaint on first listen was that a lot of the choruses and verses blended together song to song but yeah that’s completely gone now

 

also the way it sets itself up as a romance song and then you’re like wait, mulholland drive isn’t a romance and moonlight sonata isn’t exactly romantic lol they’re both very uneasy references. sort of a subtle wink that this song isn’t what it seems.

 

nothing will beat evening out. that record is a masterpiece.

I was about to go and say FOAM>AB/AP but then I did think again and…no.Even if it’s my least favorite FOB album.

 

That’s my favorite song from that album!

 

As it should be!

 

My one listen I did think 4 or 5 songs on AB/AP were good. That's 3 or 4 more than on FOAM

 

I like the version of calm before the storm on evening out

 

Needle Drop just gave the album a 3 / 10. He really really hates pop punk / Emo adjacent music, doesn’t he? If it isn’t underground hip hop, or noise rock / post punk, he doesn’t give two shits

 

I honestly almost never read or watch album reviews these days.

 

Y’all can hate on me all you want but the covid song still ruins this record for me

I’m not hating on you. But I do think if one song can ruin an album, there’s more going on than just the one song. I don’t say that with judgment. I hope you’re okay.

I say this as somebody who actually enjoys a few FOAM tracks, it will always be the worst bit
