They were great for cheap used CD finds and awful for new CDs, lol; I’m not paying nearly $20 for a regular new CD.

Remember when CD's had the band name and album name on a sticker that made it literally impossible to open?

I miss those stickers. used to save them in a notebook.

Am I just a weird Elder Millennial or did anyone else do this?

I did not ever keep the stickers. But the trick was to open the case from the bottom up. Made it waaaaay easier to get the sticker off.

Oh don't get it twisted, I knew the trick. its how we got those stickers off in one strip!

Most of those stickers I’d just cut/rip, but sometimes I’d take one off and stick it on my desk or something.

Pretty sure I had IOH and Folie stickers stuck to the inside roof of my 2007 Saturn ION along with other stickers, pins and whatever else I could stick up there lol.

that was totally me too. one of my most distinct memories like this was having my mom drive me to hastings after TTTYG came out. it was my birthday week and i used some of that birthday money to buy the CD, which was a blindbuy as i was just going off the hype AP.net built up for it.

The first CD I ever got was Santana's Supernatural as a present.

The last CD I ever got was Gravity Kills' Superstarved because I couldn't find a rip of it and I was getting desperate.

    Good times.

That Santana album was/is so damn good. I was also obsessed with Rob Thomas from Matchbox 20, so like...bonus lol.

now sure what the forums looked like for it back then. i only stayed on the front page but in the lead up to TTTYG's release, jason was making like weekly posts about the band, on top of posting a glowing review.

i also liked the simpsons so that reference persuaded me to check out the band, haha.

I'm embarassed to say that I heard about FOB and TTTYG because I thought I read they were opening for a show I was seeing in a couple months in September 2003.

They ultimately did not open for Yellowcard in fall of 2003....but I got my new favorite band out of it lol.

I know the word muse is in the title, but all I hear now is Muse in this track. Reminds me of the orchestral stuff they did on Absolution/Black Holes/2nd Law.

We reach for the longest shadow

New CD Tuesday was the best. I also had a homeschool bowling league (turn up) on Tuesdays around lunch, and me and a couple of my friends would walk to Target and Best Buy that were kind of in the same shopping area. Once we were old enough to drive, we went to Coconuts and the Hot Topic if we were desperately looking for something. The most distinct Best Buy purchase I remember making was Anberlin's Cities on a whim in early 2007 for $7.99 that was the special edition that came with a DVD.

My favorite thing about my Best Buy was that they had a Nerf Herder EP for like 10 years. The same copy. Even through like 4 condensings of the cd section. As far as I know it was there til they stopped carrying cds lol

I didn't find out about Fall Out Boy until fall of '03 when they were opening a few other tours I was going to. Definitely remember them being posted about constantly on AP.net. When FUCT came out, there was one of those 00's-style reviews posted stylized as a conversation between two of the writers here somewhat trashing the album. I believe Tate-Dogg erased it and did another review but still funny to think about it in retrospect.

Heaven, Iowa and I Am My Own Muse were huge what the fuck moments on first listen but several days later they’re my easy top 2 with heaven being a top 10 FOB song

Yeah, they’re really great songs. Cheesy, theatrical, and massive, and they really nail it.

    I love this album.
