I don’t like this as much as Love From the Other Side but this chorus is definitely going to get stuck in my head.

Also, Avron’s production is so goddamn good. Bringing him back was the best choice they could have made.

 

I would hope so because placing Mania 2nd and Folie 6th is total madness to me lol

 

the band's mixed feelings about folie are well-established and tangled up with how it was received commercially and by fans (poorly, because fans are idiots)

 

this is gonna be stuck in my head so easily. great track.

 

Love the new song. Really starting to think that the way they chose to record/mix/master the past three albums was my main barrier to getting into them as much as the pre-hiatus stuff. Hearing Avron's touch on these songs just makes it all feel like coming home.

We got a hit on our hands. I think they're about to pull another rabbit out the hat with "Heartbreak." Perfect blend of FOB v1 with FOB v2.

Saw someone post elsewhere that maybe the books from the first vid are teases for cameos in upcoming vids, based on Rivers showing up. A stretch, but could be cool.

 

Still just sounds like Fall Out Boy to me. Fits right in and is super solid.

It’s in the middle for me, but I also think FOB’s batting average on track 2’s is near 100%.

 

To me:

“we could cry a little” = pre chorus
“Heartbreak feels” = actual chorus

 

That Nope lyric threw me for a loop lol

 

Anyways yeah, song actively grew on me as I was listening. Kind of an 80s vibe and that chorus is massive. Prefer the first single, but this is good shit and boding well for the album.

 

That vocal hook thing at the end of the chorus is like something they've done on all of the big jock-jam singles from the past three records but actually good/not annoying lol

 

“Jock-Jam single” as a term is wildly funny and accurate lol
