"Young and Menace" grew in me. Don't ask me how.

 

when it comes on shuffle i'm probably hitting skip. but maybe 1/10 times, i make it to the end. idk. it's a deeply weird song and an exceptionally weird lead single, and i think it was damaging for the reputation of the album.

 

It's a great fucking song. Real ones know.

 

young and menace is so fucking good. the chorus makes me want to start a mosh pit.

 

i think that can be true and also not negate my point haha

 

Young & Menace rips, but it was a bad choice for the lead single. If they had led off with Wilson or Last of The Real Ones, I think the general reception to MANIA would've been MUCH more positive

 

For what it's worth, the album as we know it now did not exist yet when "Young & Menace" came out-- they delayed the album and rewrote a good chunk of it following Y&M's negative reception.

 

Yeah, I have those three demos they dropped somewhere in my hard drive

I wish they hadn't changed course after the reception to Young and Menace, I was really excited about that direction and I think it would have been a more interesting album to me.

 

I didn't even remember how Young & Menace went

I was done before the first chorus ended lol

 

Half that album is good but the other half is some of their all time worst

 

Young And Menace makes me think of the microphone attack sound from Kirby's Dream Land (complimentary).

 

Bishops Knife Trick is a great track

Heaven's Gate is massively unappreciated.

 

Favorite Record is one of their best songs but AB/AP probably their worst album aside from the shouldn’t-even-be-discussed Evening With
