    Things have changed.

They all have an encyclopedic knowledge of music so I’m sure they’d just be influenced by actual ‘80s music itself.

if you don’t think the 1975 is doing something more than just 80s worship you need to listen again

I'm not a huge 1975 guy but those last three albums really hit for me.

Random thoughts: I have a newfound respect for MANIA now. It's by no means my favorite album of theirs, it's still in the bottom half for me, but the ballsy production and Patrick going for it vocally always makes me appreciate it all the more. There are some blah tracks on it like Champion, but still, it's much better than I gave it credit for back in 2018.

Yeah, MANIA was my favorite post-hiatus release until Stardust came along and instantly took the crown. Crazy that there are the same amount of albums pre & post hiatus. Such a special discography.

MANIA is fantastic besides a couple really really bad songs but the great songs are some of their best post hiatus

MANIA is still probably my favorite album from them. I wouldn't argue with anyone who said Folie or Stardust, but I love too many songs on MANIA too much for it to not be my number one

Yeah, as a whole the album doesn't really stack up, but the best half of the album is absolutely some of their strongest material

I like Mania more now that Stardust exists. Scratches a different itch.

Mania is good. But it ranks low for me. Mostly because I like most of the albums more, not because of anything negative about Mania.

MANIA was the best post-hiatus album before Stardust

  20. The worst thing about Champion is that I can tell post-2014 Sia co-wrote it and that automatically makes it a chore to get through

Young And Menace is a great, fun, energetic song and the hate it gets fills me with a dark malicious glee. Not unlike the Grinch!

"young and menace" is audacious and fun, "champion" just sucks

Has the band admitted that Champion was just them going back to the "Centuries" well?
