I just woke up from a nap and had a dream that I got to listen to this record in some super swanky vip lounge but only joe was there lol

Fake Out was an absolute heater so you heard it here first. Come back to this in a couple months

my recent revisit of save rock and roll revealed to me that "just one yesterday" is a top ten fall out boy song, maybe top five

I was joking with my hockey buddies that it’s great news that Fall Out Boy are back because the NHL needs transition music and literally tonight Pete and Patrick showed up on ESPN to announce the rosters for the all-star game and clearly hinted that they're playing at it again lmao.

The way he sings “I want to teach you a lesson” elevates the whole thing

I might have missed it being discussed, but they released an edit of the single which is the version being added to playlists on Spotify at least, instead of the full version

The single release on Spotify is the full version followed by the edit and while I get it I'm already sick of jumping in and pausing it haha

    New interviews with Patrick:

“If people are expecting a big, loud, 2007 pop-punk… | Kerrang!

Patrick Stump on Fall Out Boy’s ‘So Much (For) Stardust’: “It’s not a throwback record”

IOH is their best album front to back, even though my nostalgia for the first two is so strong.

I’ve listened to this way more early on than anything since the hiatus. Into it.

I'll write you into all of my songs Supporter

I argue it’s the best “pop-punk” song in their discography. Fun and over dramatic lyrics, a corny interpolation, and long Patrick note - it’s everything I want from them in that style. That last chorus is just *chef’s kiss*

  23. it's really interesting to read that Patrick was the one who fought hard to get Neal on board — I've always kind of really felt that he was the most resistant to any kind of retread/nostalgia trip stuff. knowing that he really wanted to go back to Neal makes me 1) really believe the way he's characterizing the record here and 2) really excited to hear how they keep pushing their sound with a bit more familiarity to that IOH/FAD era

After 1 listen of the new song the other day I thought it was good. After a couple more I think it’s great. Man it really is an ear worm of a chorus

Didn't know Neal was producing - that's super cool - also didn't realise Neal had mostly been mixing / engineering rather than full-on producing the last few years, so that makes him an ever better get IMO
