Yea I know if (when) I finally sit down and give them attention I'll like it, cus there are already songs I love.
Cork tree means as much to me as any JEW album does, they're both about equal in my eyes. I'd give JEW the edge in terms of overall discography but they've got almost ten years over fob
Jimmy eat world has a special untouchable place in my heart. Been my favorite band for nearly fifteen years and they just managed to put out my 2nd fave album in their catalog after all that time. I love fall out boy but in a ~different way lol
Largely same. I'll never forget hearing the middle when I was in third grade and getting bleed American
I personally like JEW far more than FOB, but that’s just not a fair comparison and FOB has still been very consistent
ive told this story a couple times but the first time I ever listened to Futures, I was on a car drive to my uncle's house for lunch and I only got to hear half of it and I spent 4 hours just waiting and waiting for the drive home to listen to the rest as I wasnt allowed to put my headphones on while visiting my relatives today, its my favorite album of all time
Iol yep I have a similar moment! I remember buying Bleed American but for whatever random reason I didn't click with it immediately. Then when I was in a really bad mental state The Middle came on and was like an epiphany and I died and was resurrected like my literal Easter... Jesus, who? And I became the ridic person I am today!!
I think my top three fav FOB albums are way better than any JEW album but JEW is still a mighty great band everyone should get deep into.
I can't even get mad at anyone preferring fob to jew or vice versa since everyone recognizes both are great regardless
Ok so what's the best album to get someone into JEW for their first listen? I elect bleed American or chase this light for the endless poppy appeal of both
I converted my 60 year old coworker into a JEW fan using mostly songs from bleed American and integrity blues. She still incorrectly calls them Jimmy eats sandwiches tho.
I have really fond memories of bands that I'd listen to with my older brother that my mom also enjoyed with us. She loves fob, my chem, and jimmy
My dad claims he doesn't care about my chemical romance but ive seen mcr three times and my dad bought the tickets for us every time and I never asked for them or even brought it up first soooo who is the real fan here???
I started with Bleed American, then Futures, then jumped around. I just wouldn’t recommend starting with Clarity or Damage, but otherwise I don’t think you can go wrong.
Yep I think that'a what I'd suggest since it's basically what I did it just happened as the albums came out besides clarity which I discovered after CTL
Bleed American is easily the best entry point for the band. Then Futures. I feel like Integrity Blues could convert some people as well? Then again, my girlfriend didn’t like Bleed American (her first introduction to the band) at first because it just reminded her of early 2000s rock radio
