im relistening to folie rn and wow this album is so incredible. i always forget how much this album means to me and how it taught me the beauty of transitions and sequencing

i recently made a top 10 albums collage last week and im kicking myself for not putting it on there. days like today it really feels like top 3

 

I'm currently wearing my Jimmy eat world hat and just got done using my Jimmy eat world pic so safe to say I am a fan

 

if Patrick and jim ever did a duet I think I would drop dead lol

 

imagine a split EP, 2 collab songs and then a song each of a cover of the other band

the holy grail

 

talk about two bands who just pump out album after album cementing their legacy

 

not only am i living in the same time as FOB is releasing new music, but JEW too. truly blessed. ..

 

The 1975 are the band I'm banking on carrying the torch bands like JEW and FOB have been carrying for our generation

 

And Paramore

 

In 2016 I got integrity blues and I like it when you sleep...and goodness,,,, guys did we take 2016 for granted

goodness is an amazing album that always puts a smile on my face. i cannot listen to that album without feeling some sort of combination of happy/hopeful/thankful

 

if anyone dislikes Jimmy then they are automatically the worst person ever

 

I was listening to Jimmy in the car once and my sisters asked why I was listening to Christian music and I was like wat

Future was my favorite Jimmy album from ages 12 to 20 but the past few years I've been on the Clarity wavelength. But yeah man Jimmy is tight and hella consistent, though I always forget that Damage exists haha

 

Chase this light is my top JEW but integrity blues futures and bleed American are all right there

 

IB might even be my favorite at this point, but it’s hard to pick. They’re one of those bands I can’t rank consistently

 

I like Jimmy Eat World but I still haven't given them nearly enough time. They crushed it live when I saw them last summer though. There's a good chance I go see them in May and use that as my catalyst to finally give them the proper listen they deserve.

Can I still hang out here?

 

Unrelated but:

If you don't think that I am going to literally be on my knees praying to FOB when they play Church at Wrigley, you don't know me at all.

 

They'll get there for you in time. They always do. They're the one band I've been listening to even longer than fall out boy that I still love.

 

Okay but I will def say I like Folie better than probably any single JEW album, Clarity included.

It’s interesting, Soul Punk feels kind of like Patrick took the influences he brought to the table for Folie and pushed them to their logical conclusion, while shedding the rockier influences I’m assuming the other members of FOB brought. Everybody Wants Somebody especially sounds like it could’ve made the cut for that record. In an interesting way though, it feels like a bridge between the two eras of FOB. What I’m trying to say is WHY THE FUCK DID I NEVER GIVE THIS ALBUM A FAIR SHAKE USKFNRIEKDNF
