GOD BLESS THIS BAND! They tweeted that they put up a signed lithograph and I start prepping my wallet thinking oh god that's another $30+shipping I shouldn't spend but have no choice but to do. Then I get there and it's $9.99. They really are not making me pay an insane premium for their signature they really do love me wow. Anyway get 'em while they're hot:
Definitely part of why they're doing it (to get the extra sales boost), but they could've easily charged more.
Got one thanks. Already bought the album though it's pretty cool they are doing the poster + the album. I think they figure any fans that want the poster already have the album. EDIT: Props to FOB for not making the pricing on a signed litho an expensive mistake
Okay, shit, that lithograph is realll tempting. If I'm getting this right, it's basically the album cover on card about the size of a vinyl cover? Signed too...
Yea that's about right. They're usually on pretty sturdy paper/card too. They're not flimsy like a poster.
Literally caved and bought it before you replied, shows my will power haha. But man, that makes me even happier then. £14 including shipping, for a record that I love and a signed lithograph. That's an incredible deal. Just a shame it'll be months it gets here haha.
What's even more messed up is their official FOB accounts haven't said anything about it. No mention that it's the incorrect order or that a fix is coming. All we have is Pete @ing a few people on Twitter. Weird.
Wilson is such a love letter to those who adore Folie. So many of the Folie tropes are presented and perfected into the new FOB style.
That really sucks, sorry to hear that. If you wanted a place to post it Drew is slacking on the Chorus one. Heh.
I really don’t hear the Folie comparisons on that song. I was so excited for that one after seeing people draw the comparison but it’s honestly one of my least favorites.
I don't know if it sounds parallel to anything that exists on folie but I think it would fit in with that group of songs if that makes sense. I feel the same about hold me tight and infinity tbh
That's exactly how I view it in my mind. Some of the melodies, especially the "There's nothing more cruel...", feels like a Folie melody. Or the wave-y texture of the guitar in the pre-chorus which is something sprinkled in a couple sections in Folie iirc. The strumming style of the verses, particularly during the beginning of the song, nods to tracks like Suiteheart.
because classic pop punk is a dated sound and all those bands have either stagnated or moved on. either move on with them or keep listening to a genre that was mediocre to begin with that's only gotten worse in the last ten years
Fall Out Boy hasn't been "pop-punk" since maybe 2003. So either you are being ironic or you haven't been paying attention to this band for the past 15 years.
