I really like Wilson, Hold Me Tight, Last of the Real Ones, Champion, Bishops Knife Trick, Church. I'm not as big on Heaven's Gate as everyone else seems to be but I still like it Stay Frosty is okay but the eau de resistence bit annoys me haha, Sunshine Riptide is okay Young and Menace is still bad
Champion is still just the blah annual ESPN song for me. Young and Menace works fantastically on a treadmill.
Can we all just at least agree that the best stretch on the album is Stay Frosty-Bishop's Knife Trick or
I’m on Heaven’s Gate. So, uh, this fucking slays, huh? Can’t wait for Y + M, which was my favorite of the pre-release tracks, and the closer. Edit: and Champions is fine to me, and I think the last 40 seconds is super enjoyable because of that Patrick vocal run. I always get a little hype for that part.
Stay Frosty is such a punch in the face from the second you hit play. What a phenomenal choice as an opener.
Only thing about Stay Frosty I’m not completely sold on is the Tony Harding name drop, if only because she’s so culturally relevant at the moment and it feels a little easy
Yeah, I remember reading about it earlier in the week and clean forgot all about it in the morning. Next listen I'll have to do it correct.
Question: What do people like so much about Church and Bishop's Knife Trick? Like, they're okay songs, but are lyrically lacking, emphasize voice over melody and... the instrumentals just feel like they're missing something.
My brother just told me how much he liked track 3. I was like "Yeah, it's one of their best but we heard it a while ago". Turns out he meant Stay Frosty. It begins
The end of the chorus in Bishop’s Knife Trick will never not remind me of that YouTube version of Foo Fighters’ “Best of You” that repeats “the best” over and over.
From what I'm seeing on Ticketmaster, the tour seems to be entirely seated (no GA), and the price range for every date is $30.50 - $70.50.
Bummed there's no Philly date. Openers for this leg are a lot more enticing to me than the first leg of the tour.
Not feeling this first track at all. Hopefully I'll find a gem or two in here. Didn't enjoy their last one at all. Will still argue that "Young Volcanoes" and "Alone Together" are two of the band's best songs. Hold Me Tight is a lot better.
Bummer since they’ll probably be at the Buffalo Warped a couple months prior and their annual Christmas show a few months later. Not that there’s a thing as too much ETID
Speaking for myself, I like them because they are engaging songs that are lyrically rich, and showcase the harmony between emphasizing vocal talent without sacrificing melody, and all while having interesting instrumentals. Edit: they also, in fact, bangarang.
I've made the conclusion that Church may be one of the best songs I have heard in a while, definitely the best on this album by far. It has the most plays on my itunes library by far right now
