It's pretty big. Look at the other artists who have played there: Paul McCartney, Elton John, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters Wrigley Field summer 2017 concert lineup
"And if death is the last appointment Then we're all just sitting in the waiting room" This part in Church gives me such a big smile
My quote wasn't meant to imply otherwise (although reading it back those quotation marks sure make it seem like it!). I think that is insane they are playing there!
Maybe it's because I'm binge watching The Office (again), but I hear "Mr. Schrute" after that line. :D
"got a sunset in my veins and I need to take a pill to make this town feel ok" "The pills are kicking in, cause I'm stuck in the sunshine riptide"
I think my favorites at this point are Wilson, Heaven's Gate, Sunshine Riptide, and Y&M. I don't know how often I'll listen to this because I've never been the biggest FOB fan and this still has some elements that I just don't enjoy, but right now, I'm really liking it and stand by what I said earlier, that this is at least their best since FAD.
Just curious, but do we know what songs were part of the re-writes in the late fall that delayed the album?
I won’t be listening to M A NIA until tomorrow, so in the meantime I’ve revisited Patrick’s solo stuff. This City, Spotlight (Oh Nostalgia), and Love, Selfish Love are certified jams. I can’t believe i let them fall by the wayside in my life. Patrick is such a damn treasure.
I believe everything except Young and Menace & Champions were re-writes. I'm sure they kept parts, but I think they more or less scrapped the album they had.
it wasn't rewrites so much as it was just further fleshing out songs that already existed from what I can gather from interviews
This is what I’ve seen in the interviews as well though I think it was mentioned that Last Of The Real Ones wasn’t on the original version of the record
In one of the recent interviews, Patrick mentioned that Stay Frosty was a song that Patrick really fought for, so I imagine it existed in some form earlier on. Also, Sunshine Riptide was at least mentioned way early on, but doesn't necessarily mean the song was the same.
Soul Punk was criminally underrated! I saw Patrick at a 300 cap room with his full band and it was awesome. Check out the bonus tracks if you haven't before, Mad At Nothing is one of my favorites.
Won't be listening until tomorrow. Super excited and everything. But one question: Have they ever addressed why they spell MANIA like M A N IA or whatever it is?
