I think it’s pretty cool that they still close with Saturday after all these years. It would be pretty bold if they had a different closer, though
He's right. Most people at the shows don't know Saturday as it is so imagine the rest (outside of Grand Theft Autumn).
Every time they start Saturday you can see the disappointment on all the younger fans faces. I specifically remember how sad the kids in front of me were at WinTour after it started.
I was headbanging so hard during thriller and people around me were giving me shady looks HARD. I didn't care, their loss
I feel like no one around me last time I saw them knew any songs aside from Sugar, Dance, Thnks, Centuries and My Songs
At that point in the show, what do people expect them to close with? They’ve already played all of the “hits”
Closing with Saturday still is cool for the nostalgia, but it's literally asking the majority of the crowd to head for the exits early to beat the traffic.
Last time I saw them live was an off day of the Monumentour. I think it was for the local pop station. Meghan Trainer(sp?) opened. It was the least engaged I had been at one of their shows, even though it was a full set it was still basically the greatest hits. I'd love for them to pull out some deep cuts, or something other than singles but that's just not the band they are. I get it though, they have 7 albums and 7 albums worth of singles that people who haven't seen them 4+ times want to hear.
I haven't seen them since the Wiz tour, which is wild to me since that was 2 and a half years ago. It'll be almost 3 full years by the time their next show actually gets announced.
Yeah, just missed the $11 vinyl sale on Amazon, too. Buuut I had a gift card so the extra few bucks don't bother me. Won't arrive till Tuesday, though
Just got through my first listen and not really digging it. I dug some of the singles but the rest of the album just seems disjointed to me.
All I wish is they'd play a few more deep cuts from FUCT - IOH - FOLIE rather than just the hits but it is understandable given how big their discography is nowadays. Also a few pages back now but Alpha Dog & From Now On We're Enemies were the perfect 2 tracks to mark the "end" of the band IMO.
One thing that bothers me on Hold Me Tight Or Don't is during the bridge when he says "The distance between us". The change in tone from "The" to "Distance" doesn't flow right and it sounds unnatural to me, but don't mind me, that is just a pesky little detail I happened to notice.
I guess we get to do the whole thing where we complain about the openers again? But seriously, I'm ready for Monumentour pt 2.
