Yea I adore Sia, but she definitely works better on her own than with other people. I love her version of Like a River Runs for Bleachers Terrible Thrills because it's so cool to hear her interpret a song definitely not written for her or by her. Also I haven't listened to this yet, and it's killing me but I'm just waiting until it hits streaming tomorrow night at this point. Everyone is getting my unreal hyped. I already absolutely love 4/5. Still not sold on Champion, but coming around a little more.
FOB has been one of my favorite bands ever since the beginning of my self-determined musical consciousness, but I’ve never been one to follow interviews and whatnot (I only recently tried to piecemeal together all of the Paramore drama throughout their career... tough task), but this week I’ve been going hard at watching interviews and live sets and consuming everything I can related to FOB. With that, someone posted this on /r/falloutboy and I dug it a lot
Extremely pleasantly surprised with this album for the most part, tracks 1-6 are hands down the best stretch of music since... I dunno, a long fucking time from the band. Champion - Sunshine - Y+M brings down my enjoyment though, sadly. Thankfully the closer brings it back around. 7/10 songs ain't bad, and I am sure I will come around to Sunshine very soon. Sitting here imagining them getting two more songs out of the sessions and cutting Champion/Y+M... a man can dream. Still irked that the thread title doesn't allow for the album title the way the band wants!!!!
Gonna have to listen to this a few more times today to really pick out which tracks (aside from Wilson) are my fav but this record is pretty killer. I think every song is a big hit for me to except for Sunshine and Heaven's Gate, and I can easily see those two growing on me a loooot
I’m not all in on Stay Frosty like most here yet. Hopefully it grows on me. I like the album even more after a few listens. Bishops Knife Trick, Wilson, and Heaven’s Gate have rapidly increasing play counts right now.
I’ve been reading this thread and it’s making me super pumped to hear it the moment my pre-order arrives but I have a question, is the tracklisting on itunes different from the one you guys are listening to? need that updated tracklist because Y&M is still track no.1 for me, thanks!
goddammit I wish they would bother playing something that isn't IDC/Disloyal Order from that album again. It's going on 10 years since the record and they need to reevaluate the thing. It has more in common with their post-hiatus stuff than most people think.
I like more than a half of the record this time so it's definitely better than AB/AP. Stay Frosty and Wilson are top tier FOB songs. I couldn’t care less about Y&M, Champion, and Sunshine Riptide. The rest of the album is decent and I hope it will grow on me.
Combing through this thread just gives me the conclusion that Fall Out Boy should do a series of discography shows in Chicago. I'd fly out for that shit.
1. Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea 2. The Last Of The Real One 3. HOLD ME TIGHT OR DON’T 4. Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) 5. Church 6. Heaven’s Gate 7. Champion 8. Sunshine Riptide feat. Burna Boy 9. Young And Menace 10. Bishops Knife Trick
I don't know why I go on reddit. Some dude is threatening self harm because he doesn't like the new album...
I really hope iTunes fixes the tracklisting because that’s how a lot of people are going to get access to this album.
I don't know if they hate Folie but I mean, if they do it's probably because of their own fans being whiny shits about that album. Would they even want to play that album front to back for people who dislike it?
In this video, Joe says people think they want to hear every song on TTTYG in full but they don’t. That’s probably true. I imagine if they randomly broke out Homesick at Space Camp at a concert, maybe 1% of the audience would care
