Only song I think mayyyyy have worked with another feature is a female fest. on Heavens Gate...would be cool for an alternate version (similar to Perfect duet)
I sometimes wonder how people would have reacted if C Love hadn't been the victim of years of character assassination by Harvey Weinstein. I could never tell what was so offensive about her part haha.
Courtney is fine her part is fine. FOB fans been super extra about features since lil Wayne but in hindsight Wayne is essential and the song wouldn't be the same without him
I didn't even know who she was other than Cobain's widow, but her part was just very screamy and sweary and didn't really make sense with the message of the song
Lil Wayne has a perfect feature on Tiffany Blews. I’m kinda dumb though because it took a few listens before I even noticed him
That Wayne feature is perfect, and even though I have nothing against C Love that feature is a low-point in their discog for me.
I definitely think there was a shift post-hiatus, and Folie is still my favorite FOB album don't get me wrong... but I also think the new albums don't deserve anywhere near the hate they get.
I'm going to revisit AB/AP today. There's only like three songs I remember really enjoying on it, the rest didn't do much for me. I love SRAR though. I already feel comfortable saying this is immediately my favorite post-hiatus album
This album has a 1.3 on sputnik. Not that that has any real meaning, but it's a whole 1.0 lower than SRAR. Probably all junk ratings though
Pretty sure like 90% of those people "rated" it way before hearing it... I recall there being a bunch of 1/5 ratings of the album after Young & Menace came out
Side note: I'm a contributor on Sputnik and I barely even bother with that site anymore. Really can't stand the pervasive elitism/general atmosphere on there at this point.
sputnik has garbage opinions when it comes to FOB. sputnik is like, a breeding ground for snobby indie rock dudes
I've also had really crippling writer's block for months so that's also why I haven't been publishing reviews, so I'm kinda using my Sputnik bashing as an excuse, there are some really cool users on there... but anyway
Not sure if this is a hot take or not: I actually really enjoy I Don't Care and think it was a fine single choice... I think pretty much any single from that album wouldn't have done well with how the mainstream's tastes were shifting at that point in time. Also, America's Suitehearts rules, I know a lot of people don't seem to like that one.
