Definitely the song that seems like it's going to have the longest legs in the current musical climate they play it over the speakers at my indoor volleyball place and I can see several people bobbing their heads and singing (mostly me tho ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )
The fact that they're playing that one on their upcoming late night appearance gives me hope they're pushing it
this album gives me so much of the r&b influenced vocal melodies / songwriting I've wanted from Patrick since Soul Punk holy god
I need to give AB/AP a re-listen. With the exception of a few songs I just couldn't get into it at all.
I wanna go back to the past and show TTTYG era me this new record and have him ask if it was still the same lead singer.
Album is a meh from me. Singles were the best. The whole album has slightly shallow, overly dark undertones. Still a lot more interesting and coherent than AB/AP. But the singles oversold it. Champion is still only okay, haven't been able to get into Church or Heaven's Gate. The rest are just good, but nothing to write home about. I miss the catchy, fun, theatrical, radio pop sound of SRAR
Honestly, Sunshine is the only song that I really gaf about. Last of the Real Ones and the closer are also pretty good.
"i wonder if your therapist knows everything about me" is still my favorite lyric on the record but it's like such a classic pete wentz line
