Works so great at the opener. I was worried that not having "Young and Menace" there would be weird, but it really works where it is.
I gotta say, this was the most excited I've been for an album release in a long long time. It was like being back in high school, constantly refreshing AP.net for news about a release and scouring the web for a leak. It's such a nice feeling to be able to experience again
Man, what other band does this? Fall Out Boy throws out the rulebook every record even after receiving tons of success with the direction they were already going in. I feel like even if this record didn't sit well with you, you'd have to respect the effort made. Really remarkable to me.
How y'all feeling about Burna Boy? Thought his verse went really well with the overall vibe and sound of Sunshine Riptide. I'm also just really happy to see they're gonna keep doing features after AB/AP was the first to have none.
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STAY FUCKING FROSTY
god every time they release a new album i always go on huge kicks of their whole discog and fall right back in love all over again. sometimes i forget just what cork tree means to me, but anytime i toss it on i get lost in the nostalgia for the entire duration, its a blissful feeling and why it remains my favorite, its such a formative album.
Was nervous when they said they scrapped almost the entire album, but it turns out it’s the best thing they could have done. This is some really good Fall Out Boy.
AHHHHH that was such a great first listen. The track order is actually so great. Definitely felt like how I felt after listening to SRAR for the first time. Very satisfied with not really a dull moment. Heaven's Gate was the only one that I didn't go "wow" after on the first listen. Stay Frosty & Church kill. And FOB is for sure 7/7 in closing songs. Honestly 7/7 in openers too.
they're just completely unafraid to shift with the current pop sounds and put the fall out boy twist on them.
Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea is their first track post-hiatus to not include a lyric from the song in the title. Love that. Curious about its origins though.
my older brother likes it which makes me ridiculously happy since he showed me this band 15 years ago
Man lovvvvving Heaven's Gate. Church to Heaven's Gate seem like a perfect tandem forcing your soul out of your body Was nervous they were going to stick to the formula too much, but these two songs totally blow that out of the water
