Video gives me a Return Of The Jedi funeral pyre/celebration ending vibe. Like I can totally see FOB making a cameo playing this

 

The new track sounds like a bad Maroon 5 song, haha. I really, really hate this :(

 

All Maroon 5 songs are bad. But this doesn’t sound like them.

 

Maroon 5 have some jams.

 

Marron 5 have plenty of jams, mostly in the earlier days of their career

Maroon 5 is really bad but Harder to Breathe is better than a lot of new FOB

And hell yeah Pat sounds great here. Someone said that it sounds like Pat sounded like he was straining earlier. Hopefully this vid proves otherwise....like....resoundingly

 

Oh my god listening to the song for a second time and haha the music does sound like modern Maroon 5, hahaaha fuck. Lucky for FOB that Patrick has enough creativity as a vocalist to take the song somewhere that M5 wouldn't

Hot take: Maroon 5’s first two albums are better pop albums than FOB’s post-hiatus albums. Their new stuff is trash though of course.

I actually was just about to rank all FOB and all M5 albums, but I didn't want to set off too much of a firestorm haha

 

relistened to all four songs from this, i love all of them except "champion," which is like a less annoying "centuries" so i'll take it. i also c a n n o t wait to hear the studio version of "expensive mistakes"

 

"expensive mistakes" aka patrick stump writes a huge emotional rock song over the "paper planes" template and prob the best song since the hiatus
