I've been posting on this site and AP since 2008 about how many bad songs Folie has. The highs are great, but the lows are terrible

 

"I've had a really bad take since 2008" is not the argument you think it is.

 

the take that Tiffany Blews is a good song is the 2008 take that should be left in the dust

 

The back half is a bit weaker (27 through 20 dollar) and I don't think West Coast is their best closer but it has no bad songs.

Pavlove is too good to be a b-side also, maybe should have been on the album instead of $20 nose bleed

This band has had some corny lyrics on every album though lol… especially the one you ranked first (imo at least)

 

Is it really FOB without corny/cheeky/clever(?) lyrical word play?

 

I know taste is subjective and all that but it still blows my mind to see TTTYG above any MCR album.

 

It's not "the lyrics are corny" for me, it's the lyrics PLUS the chanted nature of it, plus the drums adding to it, just really goes over the edge for me

 

I've never loved that part but the rest of the song is so good it doesn't even matter. Top tier FOB.

It's a pop-punk album with some hair metal guitars sprinkled throughout . Pretty sure Joe Throman could have done the same if he wanted to.


(yes i know describing the album as that is incredibly reductive)

 

I don't think there's a FOB album as good as Three Cheers or Black Parade, but FOB is pretty consistently great pre-hiatus

 

Folie is incredible - second only to IOH for me. But they've yet to write a better song for me than Thank You For the Venom. Or Fake Your Death. Or WTTBP. Or Vampire Money.

 

I don’t see ESPN knocking down the doors asking for an MCR song.
