To me, it stops the album dead in its tracks and would be better slotted in after 20 Dollar Nose Bleed. I usually skip it and have felt this way since 2008
What a Catch is definitely a highlight, and clearly should've been the album closer instead of West Coast Smoker. I don't care () for that song at all
I Love every single part about IOH but the song that really makes me wanna burst out into sing-song is The (After) Life of the Party. Patrick sings the living hell out of that chorus and the ending is just....Chefs kiss!
I think Folie was ahead of it’s time. I hated it as a teen when it came out, but have really come to appreciate it the last few years. Think it’s better than IOH even if there’s a few tracks in the back half I don’t love.
Just super random, but the fact that Folie A Deux is going to be 15 next year its making my head explode already.
folie is one of the best-sequenced albums i can think of, lol, i think "what a catch" is the perfect mid-album ballad dividing up the two halves, and "west coast smoker" is on the level of "xo" for me in terms of leaving the listener with such a scorched-earth banger that you want to start the record all over again. "follow the disorganized religion of my head / and we'll never get through customs, let's just take off again instead" is one of my favorite stump melodies and wentz lyrics
I’ve Got All This Ringing… is their best closer by a decent margin imo. Folie is far and away their best record tho for me.
Listening to The Shipped Gold Standard and I think it might be one of my favorite FOB songs ever. The chorus just hits a chord with me every damn time.
