I used to have a CD that was half Infinity and half Folie that I called Folie On High, it really made a great album when you cut off the terrible stuff from both those albums
While I have had this same conversation at least a million times on AP, I'll play along again haha I think The Take Over is absolutely boring, monotonous and unengaging, especially after Thriller. Always takes away any excitement I had when starting the album. Never liked This Ain't A Scene, could cut I'm Like A Lawyer but it's not terrible. A few others in the back half that I could give or take but they aren't terrible. Folie though, Winona and Tiffany are maybe my least favorite songs from them of all time, wams isn't good, I think Disloyal Order is their single most overrated song and West Coast Smoker is bad.
"she's my winona" is sometimes my favorite fob song too ("never the same person when i got to sleep / as when i wake up"!!!!!!!!!) but like... really?? "the take over"????
Zzzzzz Zzzzzzzzzz oh sorry, didn't see you there, I guess The Take Over was playing and I must have dozed off
It's funny, in 2008 they were pretty common thoughts when the album came out, it was always divisive among fans, particularly wams and Tiffany
history has borne out that a lot of fans were wrong about folie i knew folie was their best record when i heard it lol
"tiffany blews": one of their best choruses, incredible "w.a.m.s.": is this actually the best song on folie????
it helps that i think folie has pete's best lyrics. fame magnifying all the depression and paranoia that was already there
I don't have a desire to do a definitive ranking. But I feel comfortable saying that FAD is my favorite by a country mile. And the records that I seem to have the biggest soft spots for are IOH and Mania.
