This record means a lot to me, too. I want to tear up when I hear the bridge of Bishop’s Knife Trick

Stellar songwriting, really deep layered production, some of petes best lyrics, by far Patrick's best vocal showing, a lot of ambition in trying new styles across the whole album yet it makes an intensely cohesive whole

 

The more I listen to this, the more I love it. I could honestly see this topping Folie for me

 

I'm almost saying it's better than Folie at times. Ask me again in a year. I know I'll catch flack but I like it so much more than anything post-reunion. And I didn't AB/AP

 

I agree, probably the best post-reunion album for me too. SRAR didn’t age super well IMO, and the lows on AB/AP are lower than the lows here.

 

Easily the best post-reunion for me.

 

SRAR holds up imo but this is defitely better. It's not only their best post reunion album but it's pretty close to being their best album. Recency bias makes me want to put it over Folie.

 

Champion is pretty much the only thing holding this record back from definitely being their best. I wonder if there will be any (full) bsides I can swap it out with lol

 

Champion despite its generic nature still gets me kinda hyped when I hear it tbh don’t @ me

Champion is sooo mehh. Like Centuries is mile above it. I'm glad that song was received so lukewarm.

 

My local alternative radio station has been playing Church all the time lately and that's really awesome. ALT 92.3 for anyone in the NYC area

Looking forward to seeing them play Church so I can sing "IF YOU WERE CHURCH" as loud as I can.

MANIA can definitely hang with the pre-hiatus albums.

Still fighting for my top album this year and I don’t see that changing.

 

Champion is absolutely a good song... a decent song. Probably the weakest or second weakest on this album, but it is by no means a bad song.
