Stoked for this record, sounds like they'll be doing a lot of cross promotion with Fruity Pebbles this time around.
It was kinda weird to announce a release date for something that was only half written in the first place but oh well, hoping it's great. Does this mean the tour is still going on? It'd be weird to see the Mania tour way before the album is out
I'm glad they're delaying it rather than just putting it out but why don't they wait to finish before setting a date? haha.
not sure why everyone thinks it's out of the ordinary that they announced the release date before finishing the record? they did the exact same thing with save rock and roll and ab/ap would be okay with a champion-less album
Maybe they postponed the album because it's so bad they are worried that people won't go see them on tour after it comes out? But… I'm so confused about all of this, the first single came out months ago with the announcement and the album still wasn't done? Why was it was announced then? Really weird.
It was also announced right around then that the album wasn't done yet. It's not really that weird. I tell people all the time at work that I'll have something for them by the end of the week when I've only done minimal (if any) work on it. Sometimes it helps to set deadlines for yourself. And sometimes you can't quite make those deadlines.
Don't think it's that weird but I did find it odd that RS article the other day said they still had a good amount of work to do on it (though I don't know when the interview actually took place)
I guess I'm just surprised by how long the delay is. A few weeks/a month I'd understand, but 4 months? That's a lot of time.
And with a major label you want to be on the books/in the plan if you're planning a big release. It happens quite a bit actually for that reason.
That makes sense. It's also probably part of the reason they had to push the release back by 4 months, so they could fit it in the planned release schedule for the label.
This will still shape up nicely for them. Tour the fall, work on the album, play the big radio holiday shows and then back on the grind for the 2018 festival circuit.
I remember them saying the album wasn't done when they released Y+M so it's not surprising to hear it's still not done
I still listen to FOB albums from 10+ years ago so if they need another four months to make an album they believe in, it's probably gonna be worth the wait, for me at least
