Last of the Real Ones Hold Me Tight Or Don't Stay Frosty Wilson Church Bishop's Knife Heaven's Gate Young and Menace Sunshine Riptide Champion Champion is a song I'll never be able to acquire a taste for, but the other nine make for a good driving album.
hold me tight is just absolutely perfect pop song writing. extremely catchy verses, undeniable pre chorus, and a huge massive arena stomping chorus
and the choice to put latin american influence throughout the beat and the guitars is wonderful, they really extended themselves for that track.
Here’s hoping! Idk what it is about that track but it gets everything right for me. This one is always growing on me, especially after seeing the live vids of it. I couldn’t even make it through the whole thing when they first dropped it, but now I’ve come to really like parts of it. Still not entirely sold on the chorus for reasons I can’t quite articulate, but everything else is great. I have a similar problem with Wilson, where the chorus just doesn’t completely work for me, but I think my problem with that is more with the lyrics.
the chorus on hold me tight was holding me up til i memorized patrick's rhythm of the n-n-n-n and started singing along perfectly lol
i like wilson because the line "i always make such expensive mistakes" speaks to me on more levels than id like to admit
I really like the beginning of the melody but I feel like it doesn’t go where I want it to toward the end, almost anti-climactic in a way? Idk lol. The “I’ll stop wearing black” line just takes me out of it, up until then I’m fine but I just reallllly don’t like that line. :\
i thought it was ridiculous when i first heard it but its just another pete-ism, ive grown to like it
im almost glad its not a huge climactic back half off the chorus because it makes the bridge hit that much harder when they get there
I knew Hold Me Tight was a special song when I got home after a night out and was dancing like a drunk idiot alone in my basement.
i actually dreamt about "hold me tight" the other day. usually when i dream about a song my subconscious adds a bunch of weird parts to it but i dreamt that song whole
I like that line cus it feels like a nice nod to where the band started. I kind of take that line as "I won't forget where I'm from". Idk maybe I'm off. Do you think Pete ever comes to Patrick with a line and Patrick is just like lol no Pete I won't sing that. Well I mean I'm sure it happens but I'd love to know what some of those lines are.
I deserve this. Sorry for being snappy, I’ve been feeling like shit lately and I interpreted your post as being condescending when it wasn’t.
It's crazy how much my opinion on Hold Me Tight has changed since the release Hearing songs in album context has made me like so many songs over the years
what do we reckon then, thread? Fall Out Boy's 11 Greatest Deep Cuts (Critic's Picks) I'm incredibly stoked on #1 obviously because it's objectively their best song
i don't really consider non-single opening tracks "deep cuts," but 1 and 2 are right on. wrong pax am song though
