I was a senior in high school. I remember every second of that day haha. I was in 2nd period English when the single dropped, ran to the bathroom to watch the video on my iPhone 4s and loved it from the go. All of my friends were so disappointed that it wasn’t a pop-punk song but I loved every second of the song and the video.
So I really like a lot of this. A couple of throways, but a lot keeps growing on me and a bit I love. A lot shouldn’t work here and probably wouldn’t with a lot of other bands, whereas Patrick’s voice is so great it totally makes it and showcases how good he truly is.
I remember sitting in a lecture hall as a freshman and waiting for tickets to go on sale for the tour. Then I noticed at least a couple people directly in front of me also waiting on ticketmaster for the same show. Haha
They will never have a better set list than their return tour: Fall Out Boy Setlist at Rapids Theatre, Niagara Falls Thriller, I Slept with Someone in FOB, Disloyal Order, Tell That Mick, What a Catch, Donnie. Crazy that they played such small rooms. Mine was 1,800 cap and one of my all time favorite shows.
Agreed, their show in Vancouver for that tour is one of my all-time favourite shows I've been to. 1,000 cap venue too - they will never play a venue of that size ever again. Unforgettable night.
Yeah I'm rly glad I went to the reunion tour because they keep playing these huge shows with is fine but not my personal favorite setting
I still spin this on the daily, nothing I want to skip. Y&M is actually probably my least favorite on this. Champion is stupid catchy.
I can't stop listening to this album still. I have some observations: When the song was released, I was a huge fan of The Last of the Real Ones. But in the context of the whole album, I don't like it as much. And when Hold Me Tight or Don't was released, I really didn't like it at all. But it has grown on me a lot. It's pretty impressive how they perform that song live too, so that might have helped it grow on me. Conversely, The Last of the Real Ones looked like Patrick struggled with live. Wilson and Heaven's Gate are still my favorites. They're just so good. I can't wait to hear the new songs in September in Vegas.
Remember how I slept in that day so I never had a prayer of getting tickets tickets to the Subterranean show that my friend got to go to. I spent the entire day hunting down/trying to win tickets. I didn't.
I love thinking about this with bands, esp. Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and Panic! like all still are playing to as many people as they ever have, and they're all still so young. The future looks very bright.
I was just looking through to see what songs Fall Out Boy has never played live and there are SO MANY GEMS that they have never performed. Every album has at least a few they haven't performed - which MANIA songs do you think will be skipped over on the tour? No dates are coming near me, so I'll miss it anyways, but I would be crushed if they never did a live performance of Heaven's Gate or Bishops Knife Trick.
They're probably never going to play Sunshine Riptide. With Bishop's Knife Trick and Heaven's Gate being some of their individual favorites, I hope they do play those.
Yeah, sadly, I see Sunshine Riptide being neglected. Idk otherwise they all seem doable so who knows. Wouldn’t be surprised if they never play Young and Menace live again tho.
TBH, I’m more just sad they haven’t played tracks like Get Busy Living, You’re Crashing, I’ve Got All This Ringing in My Ears, 27, etc.
i can see young and menace getting cut tbh. werent they already doing a weird stripped down thing last tour? from videos ive seen of both versions it just doesnt translate live and this album is sure to have more effective singles.
this album also has the least amount of songs, only by 1 track but still, maybe theyll be more likely to give everything love on this cycle.
