Yeah, that song is great live, I like it more in that setting honestly. It’s pretty amazing how much better this band got live from the FUCT days (only time I ever saw them), Patrick especially has improved so much.
Holy shit. That performance compared to the first couple tv performances when they had just announced Mania is night and day. Those seemed like a band who was lost, confused, and didn't believe in themselves as all. This was a performance by seasoned professionals who have found their grove and just released an album they are proud of. I'm so so glad that they took the extra time to make this album what it is.
Freaking love the vocal run Pat does in the last chorus when they do it live. Really wish it was brought out in the studio version more, it sounds so great!
I'm wondering if it has anything to do with there being two versions out or how long it's been out or something. Seems strange with the amount of plays it has on Spotify.
I just find it odd that "Young & Menace" did, and that was the first track released, while this came out right after, and didn't.
Considering the factors that Jason listed above and the, uh, divisive nature of Y&M it shouldn’t be too surprising
It's the 2nd most "popular" on spotify next to Last of the Real Ones, and I feel like it's been doing good on these charts. It just feels like the one that has the most momentum behind it I really think it's going to blow up.
Also love how they were able to recapture the momentum of the album through the marketing and subsequent singles released. Definitely a nice rebound, and way more interesting and dramatic leadup to the album than AB//AP. The marketing dept should give themselves a Pat on the back.
My guess is there's something to do with how long a song has been released and its play count. An "Y&M" being track one it ended up getting more plays throughout the week. Just a guess.
the context of the album helps young and menace more than it helps champion, i still skip champion but i dont skipp menace also yeah it still being track 1 for most people helps
Damn I remember that day like it was yesterday. Fucking bolting out of one of my classes early to try and get tickets to the NYC reunion show, for I think it was the next day? Spent 45 minutes trying to get through Ticketmaster bullshit. I was about to give up when suddenly! fucking FOB reunion tickets for $25 a piece. I remember being in line and the kid in front of me sayin he sold possessions in order to re-buy them for $150 each. I still say that show was the best show I’ve ever been to or ever will. Tiny club, perfect set list. I practically fainted when they played Patron Saints for the encore.
I remember coming home from school and losing my shit over this. I had been reading all the rumors, and I saw the Kimmel leak, but when it happened it was unreal.
