One week later and HOLD ME TIGHT still slays. I only listened to it maybe three or four times when it was released as a single. Easily one of the best on M A N I A. And I can't get enough of Church. I love this album.
sorry i've been going through the whole discography a lot lately and i just gotta say: that note patrick holds through the entire guitar solo in "the take over"
fuck how could I forget that's probably the top his vocals are so rich on that song they really lift me up every time I hear them tbh
Right? It is not an intense or stressful solo in any way. Ryan Ross (of Panic! at the Disco), Chad Gilbert (of New Found Glory) – guitar solo in "The Take Over, the Breaks Over""
The only line I have memorized is "Give me a BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!"
Fav Patrick vocal part has to be: “Awaaaaaooohhh does your husband know? Does. your huuusband know? Does your husband knOOOOOoowooowwaaahoooowoh? Does he know?! Does he know? Does he knowwowahahaow? OH! OH! OH!” Folie seriously may have my favorite vocal performance of any album. I would kill to have the stems for it.
HDD has Mania at #1 with 127k. Seemed like a smart idea to bundle the album with the limited merch they released this week.
Yeah, Sunshine Riptide finally clicked with me today. Last one is Bishop's Knife Trick and then I will officially love every track on this album. Somebody earlier said that Champions kinda sounded somber and I agree. Even though the lyrics are the opposite, the somber tone of the song sorta makes it seem like the narrator of the lyrics has been through hell.
Third #1 in a row, in fact. (Excluding PAX AM.) Noticeable drop from AB/AP's 218,000 first week, but still a massive number considering the unorthodox rollout and delay.
