I love AB/AP. I have such strong memories associated with it

 

Every single time I listen to Fourth of July it brings back this random memory of my wife, my kids, and myself in the backyard barbecuing, swimming in our cheap little pool, listening to AB/AP on full blast.

i always forget they did pax am days. "caffeine cold" is def one of their best songs ever

 

I just bought the PAX AM edition of SRAR so hoping to check that out soon. Never bought SRAR for whatever reason, felt the singles were not what I wanted from them at the time but AB/AP brought me back as a modern fan.

 

ABAP came out during one of the weirder years of my life. I was traveling a lot for theater productions I was in. My nephew was born with some pretty difficult health issues, and my partner (now husband) was in the hospital for almost two months with some near-death health issues as well. Listened to the album a ton in my travels; might be way I'm more fond of it than most.

Sorry for the word-vomit, over detailed description of my 2015 life.

 

Don't be sorry. I'm glad that you had an album that helped you get through some tough times. Honestly, I could probably write a 10,000 word essay on what each album did for me and what I was going through during that time frame from which the album was released until the next album.

Folie was the album that helped me get through the aftermath of cancer. (Different band, but Jack's Mannequin - The Glass Passenger also helped me tremendously during that time frame of my life. I still can't listen to Caves without crying like a baby.)

 

My favorite FOB b-side is either Lake Effect Kid demo or GINASFS

I was pissed the first time I saw FOB live, the bridge of Uma Thurman was replaced with a trash Wiz Khalifa verse lol

 

thats the only one on the remix album i hate lol

 

does anyone else feel like last of the real ones does what champions was aiming for but a million times better? huge, soaring stadium rock

 

yes it was like they finally figured out how to execute that kind of song without annoying me

 

I can see this and boy I fucking love that one. I will say though, lyrically it hits different notes than something like Champions or Centuries.

 

They should have put Juicy J’s Centuries verse on the actual album and they should have given MAPA a different title lol

 

If you don't like AB/AP (the song), I think you just need to listen to it with me in my car with the volume all the way up and I'll show you what a tune it is.

I think the only song I’m meh about on that album is Novocaine

 

i love "novocaine," it's like "death valley" plus

 

Title track is pretty easily the worst track on AB/AP, but it's pretty far from their worst song

 

Love Death Valley, very meh on Novocaine. I think it's because it's so similar to Death Valley.
