philly was ridic on sunday, i live like a mile away from center city but there were hundreds of people outside and too many were just leaning on their car horns for two hours after the Seaguls won
It's hilarious to read the first page of this thread and see how everyone's thoughts about Young and Menace have changed over time.
r i g h t? Like, I'll put my hand up and admit I hated it - fucking HATED it, like 'worst thing they've ever written' hate - on first listen, and on subsequent listens, and was put off the album for a good while; then it got pushed back, then I heard Wilson only in January after avoiding all the other songs, and THEN I listened to the album and Y&M worked so well in context it was hard to believe it was the same song tbh. I really like its live iteration too.
I’ve always been pro-Y&M. I had some not-so-nice things to say about Hold Me Tight, but that one’s grown on me.
Champion is the only one I didn't like from the start. I hope they do Y+M the normal version on this tour, instead of the stripped down one they did in the fall.
Only way they can really pull off Young and Menace live is if they have the chorus vocals on playback. It's just so awkward having Patrick sing that live
I only want to hear tracks 1-6 live, which I think is reasonable but I can see them doing Champion instead of Heavens Gate. I would imagine the others are locks
@sophos34 I put on New Found Glory's From Your Screen to Your Stereo pt 2 today and it seems like a pretty evenly produced pop punk album
I'm ready for current ranking time cork tree > folie > mania = infinity > save rock and roll > tttyg = ab/ap
sorry, another soul punk post: i was fortunate enough to hear the entire album almost a year before it came out, but it was before patrick slotted “cryptozoology” into “run dry” and when the album finally came out and i first heard that crushingly heavy synth solo in the bridge it just blew my mind a p a r t it’s the sort of song i hope the time covers one day, he nailed the jam/lewis vibe
SRAR > Cork Tree > MANIA (may change slightly) > IOH > TTTYG > AB/AP > Folie Quite a few I'm on my own with there, I know haha
glad to see mania getting good placement. I feel like they've really hit their post hiatus stride here
