People, people, please... we're all right & no one need feel attacked... because there's no objective truth to any judgments or thoughts on art, remember? So can't we all just share our thoughts & respect them? Someone wants TTTYG again? Listen to their feelings & maybe play a TTTYG song & remember why people are attached to it. Someone thinks this chorus is mega huge & you don't? Maybe ask them to elaborate & listen again to find what they have. I've loved this community forever & these threads always bother me because I feel like it brings out the worst on EVERY SIDE. Our disagreements are opportunities to see things differently & appreciate each other better. Not be assholes. /my 2ยข P.S. I like this tune, for what it's worth.
oddly enough wikipedia doesn't mention his resurrection once (at least when I looked at it yesterday because I forget when it actually happened)
Because you didn't state it as an opinion? You made the statement objectively. If you'd made a wholly subjective statement, (e.g., "I feel like this could've been done better."), when there wouldn't have been room for questioning.
Just looked now. Not only is there no mention of it on Sixx's page but there's no mention of it on the "Kickstart My Heart" song page. That's extremely weird.
my best guess would be that he wants to bury it and no longer be something he's well-known for, so his PR people make sure it stays off? Actually, looking through the talk page, it looks like at least for his page, it was removed in 2015 because it had no sources, and no one has cared enough about him to put it back with sources. There's also hilariously outdated information on his page (including a reference to something he was "expected" to do in 2011 lololol)
Who he is. I was a teenager when TTTYG came out so Motley Crue wasn't high on my rotation list at that point and they haven't been front and center for quite some time. I had no reason to know who that's is.
This article comes up on the front page of a Google Search: That Time Nikki Sixx Was Declared Dead If they're trying to bury it, they're not doing a good job.
Nikki sixx dying is the only thing I know about him aside from being in motley crew. I feel like it's a pretty big rock tale. I don't care for the reference in the fob song tho. It's a bit jarring for some reason.
It's a pretty well known name. Kind of odd you've never heard of him, that's all. I can understand if you were a teenager now and not really into music. I'm sure a lot of people Googled who Mick Jagger was when that Maroon 5 song came out.
Haha no sources (except for the most popular Motley Crue song ever). I wonder if he ever did what was expected in 2011 lol
I hope they release a stripped-down, acoustic version of Young And Menace soon. It would really bring out the harmonies in the chorus.
I'm just here for the, for the, FUN! The bridge is quickly becoming my favorite part of this song. I can't help but smile listening to it as I have with most new FOB songs over the past years. It's different, but the attitude of it is what I love about this band. They are doing what they want and they don't have their head up their own butts trying to recapture some former glory. It's fun music and it is a little crazy how fans can discount it so quickly due to expectations about what it is "supposed" to be. Also, it is crazy that they are playing such large venues. Selfishly I want smaller places but when I listen to this new song I am imagining it in an arena setting and I can't wait to experience their music in a new way than before.
I feel like I had a similar "what the fuck" type reaction when My Songs came out. Wonder how I feel about this one after living with it a while and revisiting. For what it's worth, the song sounds impressive and is really well executed.
Whatever, @ me when they do another Evening Out With Your Girlfriend. The spacing in the title bothers me
Do they not play kickstart my heart the song if MC tour now? Cause that's the only song I'd want to hear. Or maybe 1 of 3/4 of theirs. It pumps!!
By itself, it's okay. But if you played this for me without me knowing who it was first, and then told me it was FOB I would've thought I was getting punked.
I was dead serious myself about recording a better version of this. Maybe not as technically proficient but more appealing to 80% of the population over age 20
