Dig it. Feel bad this album seems to be setting up to be a flop commercially though. They've already released half the songs as singles and nothing has caught on.
So, so good. Excited to hear the full album - I have only listened to Young & Menace, Champion & Last of the Real Ones before this and this is my favourite so far. I actually quite enjoy most of the songs.
Honestly I don’t think any of the members care if this LP is commercially successful - they just wanted to put out something great that they can be proud of
Definitely agree with this. As well, looking at the other albums coming out next Friday, I don't think they should have too much of a problem with the album hitting #1.
makes me so happy to see all the nice things everyone is saying about this song! I was worried to be honest.
I know this band is revered on here but i just dont get it. I sort of understand why the last 2 albums have been successful but in reality i find much of what they do is just rehashing similar songs to whats been sucessful in the charts recently. Alone together had similarities to a rhianna song (dont ask me to name it) another track echoed adele's fire song (again dont ask me to name it) this song just sounds like they went "hmm that slumdog millionaire soundtrack was pretty cool and big a few years back". The guys are very talented musically and the production is cool and stump will forever have an insane voice but to me this isnt revolutionary (as some make out) or interesting to me. Sounds like a band on autopilot churning out generic pop hits. Whereas on folie a deux they were pointing at making some great pop rock with stuff like disorder. Its not that i just cant deal with the changing sound. I just thnk this band is capable of producing something far more original than they are. Sorry just had to get that off my chest. Ill go back to listening to my org core now.
In retrospect, I think the initial resistance to Folie A Deux was due to a bit of exhaustion on everyone's part, particularly with the FBR scene. FOB had basically been touring from 2003-2007 straight and 2008 represented a bit of a changing of the guard in terms of the "scene" not being as commercially viable as it once before. I loved it when it came out but I can understand why some people were put off. Years later, it's still a great listen.
Really curious about what you don't like about this video. Seems like a video tailor-made for fan enjoyment.
I was obsessed with Folie A deux and I still am. I honestly thought it was the last album they would ever make and I kept holding onto that album for a good 3-4 years.
