Yooooo this is sweet. Loving the tones. Admittedly I've never listened to this band much if at all so I'll have to give some of their old stuff a spin before this drops.

 

Already the GOAT active band in my book before this... and they release their gd music when it's done, instead of 2023 when the pressing plant is finished.

 

Yeah, if there's any silver lining to the pandemic, it's that bands are no longer timing their releases around the completion of physical production. Maybe this was already happening, but it's become more apparent now.

They made a documentary with Ken's commentary and Greg's commentary separate from each other. I highly recommend both since they're painfully honest. Here's Ken's:

Ken describing having to hang it up in '97, p much entirely bc of Greg's H problem and knowing the creative process wouldn't work without him, was so sad. We're so lucky they resurrected 20 years later and immediately started churning out high quality material as quickly as anyone would've hoped for in the late 90s.

Interview from earlier this year where Ken talks some about the writing process for the new LP:

 

I was like "damn already? I don't wanna burn myself out if the album is only 10 tracks long" and then I remembered it's out in < 2 weeks lmao

 

New single is Submarines and it's really good, unsurprisingly.
