Apparently so. Hoping they make it over to the UK for one last run, been a while since I've seen them.
Trever announced it at a recent show. There's a video and a discussion about it on the Face to Face group on Facebook.
That’s sucks. Wonder if it was an entirely planned decision going into the album or if it’s something they’ve come to more recently. They haven’t had the album marketed as their last. I will say I attended The Only Goodbye Tour they did like 15 years ago, but a lot has changed since then in the music industry.
If this is their last album what a fitting f2f album to go out on. Really, in their whole run I think the only misstep for me was Three Chords and a Half Truth.
Yeah, it's odd they haven't marketed it that way. Part of me wonders if it was just an off the cuff comment from Trever? We'll see, I guess.
I concur with Three Chords and a Half Truth being their only misstep; I really struggled with that record.
Can we just take a moment to recognise Scott Shiflett's bass playing? My god, the guy is an absolute machine. Without a doubt, the best bass player in punk rock.
Im sure it’s been frustrating year in terms of generating income in the music industry as a whole, and you never know if there are personal factors at play. The band just sounded like they were in a good place collectively and they liked the situation they had with Fat.
Bliss and Protection are the 2 Face To Face albums I go back to regularly, and I think this new one will end up in the regular rotation too. So many great songs on here.
First listen through was pretty good. I absolutely love Protection though because that one hit me pretty hard right off the bat. This one didn't do that for me, but it will surely grow on me with more listens. So stoked these guys are still pumping solid songs.
Think I found it. Wasn’t expecting it to be 3 months ago! https://www.facebook.com/groups/facetofacefans/permalink/1968290513350749/
Maybe it’s a genuine thought or discussion that’s taken place in the band. That said, they’ve take a break before and face to face is probably the most profitable project for them and they seem to be enjoying themselves in their lineup/record situation. If they did want to make it official and call it a day I do think that’d slip that into the record promotion though or have it come up in an interview. Hope not. Record is really really good.
Accidentally posted this in the Green Day thread and meant to post it here lol…. The more I listen to this the more I hear Alkaline Trio and I love it.
Lol thank God I was so confused by that, like um no the fuck you don't hear Trio in new Green Day I'd love it if so haha
