I kind of figured since it was the last one they might return to the original title and call it The Fast & the Fur10us which seems just dumb enough to be close.
"Fast and Furious 10" gets 2023 release date "Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson won't be returning due to an alleged beef with Diesel, the magazine reported." ???
That's why it's abundantly clear in The Fate of the Furious that any scene where Vin and Dwayne are together are shot with stand-ins/greenscreen. Especially noticeable when they're chatting on that rooftop together.
they clashed a lot on the sets of 5 and 6, seems like they have different ways of working that dont mesh well together
From what I read in the past it was Rocky treats even the smallest person on set with great respect and didn’t like that Vin wasn’t doing the same?
Yeah, it was something like, Dwayne's a first in/last out kind of guy, Vin's a "I'm running the movie, they can wait for me" kind of guy. Plus that Dwayne kept being called "franchise viagra", and Vin would literally count how many times he was hit on screen versus his other heroes and wanted to make sure in his contract he couldn't lose. (I think Dwayne had similar clauses.) Oh, and the Hobbs and Shaw spin-off seemed to piss off "the family", especially Tyrese who showed his entire ass on Instagram about it.
The punch count thing and the “never lose a fight” thing is both Vin and Dwayne. I think Statham too, actually. In F7 remember Vin doesn’t actually “beat” him, the parking garage collapses around them lol
Vin also said the rock isn’t a good actor or something and that he doesn’t bring it with each role. Idk I’d rather have Vin in these movies. The rock was really only good in 5.
I think it really just boils down to two guys with massive egos clashing because they can’t figure out a way to make it work. Regardless of what we’ve heard in the he said-he said back and forth, I don’t think it’s any deeper than that, truly.
I want to like Vin Diesel because he's a geek who likes geeky things, but the more I read about him, the more he sounds like someone who drank his own Kool-Aid.
Maybe, but the Rock seems a lot more likable a person from everything I've read, which I know means absolutely nothing so... (shrugs)
I can’t pretend like I know a whole lot about tequila but I thought the Rocks was actually pretty good
