Yeah, just do it because it’s a fun experience regardless.

Just got out of this; overall pretty sick. As a long-time watcher of the sport since 2000 (all forms of racing really), there were some nit-picky things I noticed that weren’t quite right, but I know they aided in the overall story, so totally cool with it. Racing films are almost impossible to get right, but I think they did an amazing job with this. Hans Zimmer crushed with the score. Did really well in sliding in dialog and bits that helped explain different things for the average viewer/someone not familiar with the sport. Some incredible camera angles. Long, but worth it

Saw this last night. Cinematography and score were incredible and the reasons to shell out the extra cash for a Dolby or IMAX showing.

Kerry Condon did not need to be a love interest. Massive eye roll at Brad Pitt winning the last race.

Script was pretty awful and Pitt kinda phoned it in (the scene on the balcony, OOF) but I thoroughly enjoyed the IMAX viewing. I really need to watch an actual F1 race.

Ehhh, watching an actual race is another story; tbh, the entertainment value of a normal F1 race is kinda shit. It’s mostly “follow the leader”, with minimal passing. But if you still do, ESPN/ABC broadcasts the races. Today’s race is in Austria, at 8am CT

The racing sequences were thrilling. I can't wait for all the behind the scenes videos. I'm a big F1 fan, so Croft and Brundle (the commentators) felt a bit too hand holdy by the end. I get they were there for non F1 fans, but they were leaning too hard on them to explain some things that were apparent by what we're seeing on the screen.

This was my 8 year olds' first PG-13 movie and he agrees that the kissy stuff was dumb.

    Javier Bardem is a treasure.

Also that fucking Conjuring trailer is gonna stick with him for a few months. He buried his head in my arms but god damn it was like a 4 minute trailer

Thought this was awesome cinematic experience in IMAX, totally get the review that compared this to Top Gun but with cars. Has some flaws but thought this was just a very fun movie to enjoy, my fiance who is not into racing or F1 at all thought it was great as well and she commented that many of the racing details were explained.

lol the amount of times they talked about the tires.

Which is, to be fair, extremely important in Formula 1. But there were a handful of times they could have let the audience feel smart by figuring it out on their own.

Kind of the only thing relevant to pit strategy. These cars don’t run out of gas.

I haven't seen this movie yet but I just watched the Canadian Grand Prix (which was my first in a while) and all they talked about were the tires and they even have what tire set they're on visible on screen just as about as often as they show the timing of the laps etc. As someone else said, they don't refuel anymore.

I hope that just means a crossover movie with Tom Cruise's "Days of Thunder" character Cole Trickle, both racing at LeMans, Cole a Corvette and Sonny a Porsche

Paramount and Apple are going to have to play nice to get that Days of Thunder/F1 crossover to happen.
