'Arch Enemy' is about a sentient fatberg. I'm not kidding.

I've grown to really enjoy this band. Neither of these new songs is really hitting me, but every song they write is so interesting in its own way, and Arch Enemy is a tight groove

Girlfriend and I thought the line was 'fatberg you smell' when we heard it on Radio 1 last night.

if im being honest, i doubt they will ever be able to top arc for me, but im still excited for any new music. dig the two singles more than the last album

there's someone I know on FB who feels Arc is their masterpiece. I find it to be their weakest record by far, but I revisited it recently and I liked it a little more than years ago. I still feel it is much more flawed/includes more filler than any of their others though.

It's pretty great - definitely a top-tier album from them. Still wrapping my head around it because there's a lot more going on production-wise, but the slightly different lyrical style (using less words without watering down the headiness) works really well.

  12. Oh hey, nice chatting to you last night! (Context: we're both trying to sort interviews with Jon for different places. I haven't heard the album yet but he has.)

  13. Can you love me more than the planets?

  14. Album moved back to 11th September, but there's a UK/Ireland tour announced for next year!

The promo copy sounds different from the official release - this one has much more depth to it and actually brings the song to life. (It's supposed to sound like it's "mastered wrong", per the press release, which explains why it's still really loud)

People are complaining about the mixing on fan forums but they don't know how it initially sounded lol

This is instantly the best thing I’ve heard from them in a while. I dig the mixing a ton

Honestly really bored by the non-singles after the first two tracks. Maybe it’s a grower.

    The rivalry is back on

This is really growing on me. Starts a little slow, but I’m very into the stretch from Planets to In Birdsong. Black Hyena is my current favorite

The Actor and Violent Sun are especially fantastic

    hmmm

This grooves really nicely. Prefer the first half to the second half on first listen but I like the sonics of the whole thing.

I presume this band loves Kid A.
