I forget the name of the bassist they have now but that guy is a beast, and his stage presence is great. He's all over the place.
A friend of mine knows Daniel and meets up with him whenever the band rolls through his town. I think they met up last fall, but he told me Daniel already seemed pretty burnt out from being on the road for months on end. I loved what he did on Low Teens and thought he fit in with the live show well. My ideal scenario is he comes back to record the next album, or they can somehow get Legs involved again, but Clayton is a solid replacement.
It would be cool with having the next record have multiple drummers recording parts. Have Legs on a few songs, have Daniel on a few, etc.
Daniel is great and I love what he brought to Low Teens but if we have to shake up the rhythm section again I'm glad it's not Steve. I love that dude, he's a perfect fit, and I hope he stays for good.
This round is coming to a close. GUTTER PHENOMENON FINAL ROUND: Apocalypse Now And Then - 4 Bored Stiff - 8 Bored Stiff is moving on to the Championship round. Stick around, I'm gonna make a few posts to try and get everyone back for Hot Damn!
<--- ETiDiscography Tournament ---> Before this tournament of voting for the best songs from one of the greatest heavy bands to ever grace the earth kicks off, we have to cover some of the typical ground rules ladies and gents. I will repost the following and keep up with score updates as often as possible until we have narrowed it down to one. As always, all participants should be respectful and considerate of opposing opinions/votes. These tournament brackets are meant to be inclusive and fun for everyone. Open discussion on all rounds and votes is encouraged! In order for your votes to count, you must vote on every match-up in the round. Also, to make it fair across the board, no changing votes once yours are posted. Round lengths will range from a minimum of 10hrs to 24hrs, pending run rules and average voters each round of course. I will be keeping score daily and confirming votes via likes. We will work our way backwards through their discography, starting with Low Teens through to a round of Bonus Tracks released by the band, and then ending with a Championship round. (We will skip over Burial Plot Bidding War EP as the band would probably encourage us to do so anyways.) In order to avoid an uneven Championship round, as well as to keep things interesting, we'll have a Wild Card round between the 8 LP runner-ups for a spot in the finals. Byes are unfortunately necessary in some cases, but all brackets are randomly generated and I will sit out voting unless a tie breaker is required. Championship Round Choices: (Low Teens) Petal (From Parts Unknown) Moor (Ex Lives) Underwater Bimbos From Outer Space (New Junk Aesthetic) Wanderlust (The Big Dirty) We'rewolf (Gutter Phenomenon) Bored Stiff (Hot Damn!) (Last Night In Town) (Bonus Tracks) (Wild Card) <---------------------------------> @okayibelieveyou @DeRRek @StormAndTheSun @aoftbsten @Sean Murphy @RunInTheFront @JaytotheGee @truelovewaits We're now onto Every Time I Die's quintessential album, Hot Damn! (2003). This album was the band finding what would come to be their signature sound and style. The musicianship flies back and forth between chaotic metal and rock and roll, while Keith pokes the fire with engaging lyrics and a soaring vocal delivery. I don't even know that I can really condense the weight of this album and it's influence on many bands that came after them into a paragraph. Enjoy the bracket everyone. HOT DAMN! ROUND 1: Romeo A Go-Go VS I've Been Gone A Long Time Ebolarama VS Pornogratherapy This is what Round 2 will look like. HOT DAMN! ROUND 2: Floater VS Match 1 Winner In The Event That Everything Should Go Terribly Wrong VS Godspeed Us To Sea Off Broadway VS Match 2 Winner Hit Of The Search Party VS She's My Rushmore
Romeo A Go-Go Ebolarama Very easy first round, I'm not looking for to having to lose Romeo or Floater in Round 2
I don’t remember the last time I listened to Last Night In Town in one sitting. Gonna have to give that a listen soon
Outside of Floater and Ebolarama I really hope Hit of the Search Party makes top 4, that one became one of my favorites on the album as time has gone on
I mean really, I think this whole album rips. I won't be upset if any of them win. She's My Rushmore and Floater are my favorites.
HOT DAMN! ROUND 1 SO FAR: Romeo A Go-Go - 6 I've Been Gone A Long Time - 1 Ebolarama - 7 Pornogratherapy - Ø Edit: Two pretty clear winners so far. If it keeps up like this and we hit the 12 votes we've had the last few rounds, I'll run rule it. I didn't comment on it before, but I am sad to see D go. Must be a long ride living with the Buckley Brothers.
