No Son Of Mine INRihab Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Battery We'rewolf Had to go INRihab over Pigs. I just can't resist me some Dallas Green. Imitation is definitely on of their best closers.
A Gentleman's Sport Pigs Is Pigs Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Battery We'rewolf We'rewolf v Cities has been the toughest matchup for me so far
No Son of Mine (this was easily the hardest one. Love both so much but literally those first 5 seconds alone of No Son just set up the tone of the album so well) INRihab Leatherneck We'rewolf
Gentleman's Sport Pigs Imitation We'rewolf that was incredibly difficult. Keep the breakdown at the end of Gentleman's Sport in mind, folks.
No Son of Mine Pigs Is Pigs Imitation Is the Sincerest Form of Battery Werewolf (Cities and Years is my least favorite on the album) Going back and listening to these songs makes it really clear that The Big Dirty is their best sounding album. Not my favorite of theirs, though it's probably second or third, it just sounds incredible. Especially when you compare it to Gutter Phenomenon which sounds painfully thin to me.
A Gentleman's Sport INRihab Leatherneck We'rewolf Fuck, all of those were hard to pick. I've known it for awhile but The Big Dirty is seriously underrated. Might be in my top 3 for them.
No Son Of Mine INRIhab Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Battery We'rewolf No Son Of Mine vs. A Gentleman's Sport was a fairly tough one for me. That last 30 or so seconds of A Gentleman's Sport is really great, but No Son Of Mine is one of my favorites of theirs and it's a live staple. INRIhab vs. Pigs Is Pigs was the hardest one for me this round. Both are great songs, but INRIhab is a little more unique and I like Dallas' guest spot, so I'm going with INRIhab. Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Battery vs. Leatherneck was by far the easiest of this round for me. Leatherneck is in my bottom 3 of this album for sure (along with Depressionista and Buffalo Gals). I've always like Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Battery and I think they should play it live more. I remember seeing ETID on the Sounds of the Undeground tour in the summer of 2007 before The Big Dirty came out. They played No Son Of Mine and Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Battery and that was my first time hearing each of those songs. On the way out of the venue, people were passing promo cds out with those 2 songs on it and I must've listened to both of those songs 100 times before The Big Dirty came out. Also, Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Battery was my ringtone for a while back in 2007 so that has to count for something! We'rewolf vs. Cities And Years was moderately tough and similar to A Gentleman's Sport, Cities And Years has a really solid final half minute. I just can't pick it over We'rewolf though.
Best work doesn't necessarily mean the same thing as fan favorite though. I think most ETID fans would probably agree that their past 2 albums are their "best"
For me, Low Teens is among their best (top 2 or 3) but FPU is toward the bottom. TBD is still my favorite.
THE BIG DIRTY ROUND 2 SO FAR: No Son Of Mine - 11 A Gentleman's Sport - 4 Pigs Is Pigs - 4 INRihab - 11 Leatherneck - 4 Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of Battery - 11 We'rewolf - 14 Cities And Years - 1
