White Smoke For The Record Who Invited The Russian Soldier? For The Record is one of my favorite songs from them and I'm still very much considering getting a tattoo in some form of "Lord have mercy on my soul, I've had a good run but I can't run anymore."
The Marvelous Slut For The Record Organ Grinder White Smoke is a solid song, but it doesn't compare to The Marvelous Slut. For The Record vs. After One Quarter Of A Revolution was the toughest one for me this round. I really love both, but the chorus of For The Record gave it the edge. Organ Grinder is probably in my top 3 of the album. The last minute of the song is my favorite minute of the album. A few more random thoughts on New Junk Aesthetic: They don't play enough songs from this album live. I think that Roman Holiday, The Marvelous Slut and Wanderlust should all be staples in their set. Last time I saw them (granted it was a supporting slot) they didn't play a single song off of this album. I think Roman Holiday works pretty well as an opener. I have the album art t-shirt that came with the preorder bundle and I still wear it regularly. I think it's one of Jordan's best works. This album is one of their most consistent albums in my opinion. Not a single track I skip.
Roman Holiday is an excellent opener. When Keith had to drop off tour and Jason Butler filled in for him, they would have Andy come out solo and start the riff and then Jason came in and killed it. Edit: Actually...
NEW JUNK AESTHETIC ROUND 1 SO FAR: White Smoke - 3 The Marvelous Slut - 7 After One Quarter Of A Revolution - 5 For The Record - 5 Organ Grinder - 3 Who Invited The Russian Soldier? - 7
Yeah! I saw them that tour opening up for The Ghost Inside and they opened with that. The downside was that we didn't get Jason Butler as the fill-in, it was the singer from Exalt who knew roughly a quarter of the words. It was kind of an awkward show but they made the best out of a bad situation.
Jason Butler filling in for ETiD is the only work of his outside of Letlive. I care for haha. His delivery in that video gets me tense.
I think For the Record is far and away my favorite track on this album. Though not included, Godamn Kids these Days is excellent
I think the Cleveland show was the first one that Keith missed and they didn't have much time to find a replacement there. Obviously I prefer Keith, but Jason would've been neat to see.
I think Grudge Music is probably my favorite bonus track but I don't want to get ahead of myself here. I don't think they had any bonus tracks off their first 4 albums did they? So we'd be looking at New Junk Aesthetic, Ex Lives, and From Parts Unknown bonus tracks plus Salem EP (and 2 of those songs are FPU bonus tracks). Unless I'm missing something.
NEW JUNK AESTHETIC ROUND 1 SO FAR: White Smoke - 4 The Marvelous Slut - 8 After One Quarter Of A Revolution - 7 For The Record - 5 Organ Grinder - 4 Who Invited The Russian Soldier? - 8
White Smoke For The Record Organ Grinder I love this record. I think it's their most straight forward and aggressive albums. There isn't as much of a "party" kind of sound on this one, but it's full of bangers nonetheless.
Marvelous Revolution Russian Probably my 3rd fav ETID album, and the one that got me into the band in the first place. Russian is my pick for their most underrated song
Gonna leave the poll open for just a bit longer (I'm in EST so I know it's still relatively early other places.) NEW JUNK AESTHETIC ROUND 1 SO FAR: White Smoke - 5 The Marvelous Slut - 9 After One Quarter Of A Revolution - 8 For The Record - 6 Organ Grinder - 5 Who Invited The Russian Soldier? - 9
